Think I finally found the load for my Garand

Don't forget about IMR 4064, my particular rifle prefers an easy load of 47 gr. and the bullet seated 0.010 from the lands. It helped getting me to NRA expert with the old girl.

Not all the way backwards, but the front end loop and buckle are inside out.

    M1 Madness - A Garand Idea

Mine prefers IMR 4064 more specifically, 168 gr. Sierras w/47.2 gr of IMR 4064 has got me to NRA expert with a rifle that has TE of 3 and ME of 2.

How about some good boots and binoculars.

    Favorite Rimfire Scope

Take a look a the spec's from both Leupold and Weaver. The fixed 4x and 2-7's have the same dimensions.

    Favorite Rimfire Scope

My opinion as follows. For hunting puposes used within about 75 yards, I’d go with the Leupold 2-7X28 or Weaver V-7. Hunting and light target work, Leupold 3-9X33 EFR. For a more of a balance of hunting and target, Weaver V-16. Strictly target, either a Weaver T-24 or -36. In all...

    Taurus Tracker in .22lr?

Have one of each, Taurus 970 Tracker and S&W 617/no dash. I’d rate the Taurus’s fit and finish at about 90-95% for fit and finish compared to the S&W. Out of the box the Taurus had a better/smother trigger then my S&W so much so that I cracked the 617 and did my first revolver trigger job...

    EOTech owners: Poll

Sure did! Realizing Bushnell doesn’t produce the goods they market. I figured to get the best results going right to the source/manufacturer and didn’t even bother calling Bushnell after my initial call to EoTech.

    EOTech owners: Poll

Great Company! The only problem I had with a Bushnell Holo Sight was when I opened up my safe and the firearm I had it mounted to fell out breaking the frame and lens. After a call to EoTech explaining to what happened and too see if the unit could be fixed they just said to “send it in”...

    What's your favorite .22 handgun?

Revolvers D/A for me, S&W 617 & 317 and Taurus Tracker here but I think a S&W 41 may find its way into my safe in the future.

First CCW Gun: .38 Or .357?

I have to agree with MartinS and thinking you should strongly consider a S&W 442/642. If I was in your position and shopping for your first concealable handgun, the 442 would be my first choice.

    Sako Quad in 22lr?

I have one. As far as in production rifles go one would have to move up to a 54 action Anschutz for more consistent accuracy or a better trigger. There is one area of concern with these rifles with a .22 long rifle barrel. That is quite of few of them will not extract a live “unfired round”...

    Top five favorite rifles...

1; Winchester 52 2; Sako Quad 3; Winchester 63 4; Marlin 336 5; Garand Had to add a couple of honorable mentions in the first image of the Winchesters.

New clay thrower and women shotgunner's advice needed

No problem, River Bends just has a portion of the park dedicated for Trap. It’s only about 10 stations that only encompass a platform/bench for any clamp on throwers with a gun rack at each station. Like I said you need to bring your own thrower and clay’s. If I recall the shooting area is...

New clay thrower and women shotgunner's advice needed

Two thumbs up for the Trius foot thrower. River bends park in Shelby Township has an area you can bring you own clay’s and thrower. It’s a good area you can relax and teach your girlfriend some fundamentals with out worrying about holding anyone up that may be waiting for your to finish...
