    Round vs Square Butt

Actually IIRC S&W's started with Round Butt frames and added the Square Butt sometime later, early teens maybe. D R

    Pretty obvious what.........!

151-02225 is the Ser. # and IIRC, 151- above or below is the break point! Did S&W ever make a RB N frame? Just a guess! Mould # inside the right panel is RS6-GP! Thanks for the by guess & by golly! ;-) Ruger Security Six (square butt s/n prefix 151 or higher) 03175 RS6-G Gripper The 'P' maybe...

Anyone have a set of Herret grips?

Not Colt but they are Herrett's Custom Fit from the mid 70's can't recall which type they are. They fit as good today as when I bought them. As I recall they were about $40 at the time.

    Carrying a Ruger SBH 7.5" ?

Lots of hunts, trail & horseback, if you plan on much foot work a SBH will ware a person down. Experience tells me the last place I want to carry is on my hip. Horseback excepted! Bianchi Holster & Cartridge Belt also, ended up modifying suspenders to hold the damn thing up. The balance was...

    Herbert schmidt .22 revolver

I would suspect they are not valued very highly. Mine is a 'Liberty 8' brand, IIRC Buffalo Arms was another brand. Herbert Schmidt revolvers were imported by many importers and sold under different brands in the mid-60's. Try a Google search and check out Numrich...

    ruger security six?

Some guns you take to your grave, the Security Six is one of them! Of course after I'm rolled in a dirt blanket I'm not going 'TGAS' about my SS 6" Security Six. 151-02225 Started life with a 4" Barrel! D R

Holster for Ruger Blackhawk for backpacking/camping

The Blackhawk is a heavy gun, gets heavier the longer you carry it. Been there done that, carried a 7 1/2" SBK in a full cover Bianchi for many years. Must have pulled my pants up a bazillion times over the years. Like Lone Haranguer said a 'shoulder holster'. Fancy leather is not for the field...

Choose between Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 Mag Hunter and Bisley

I have one SBK and two Bisley 44 Mags. If I were to buy another Ruger 44 mag. for hunting it would be a Redhawk. Perceived recoil recoil is just that, it is to you one thing to me another. Recoil management is what you need to consider and which works best for you. If you must go with a 'single...

Quesions about older 'Uberti' SAA 'BISLEY'

Jeeze, I grind and polish crap out of my Uberti springs to make them lighter. There must be a problem you will find once you get inside. D R
