    Springfield XD 9mm Range Report

XDs are good guns. I prefer shooting the XD subcompact to the G26.

    CZ-82s at AIM Surplus

I bought some from J&G and promptly returned them, eating the shipping costs both ways. I think the "mfg CZ" stamp on the bottom of the mag does not refer to Ceska Zbrojovka in the Czech Republic, but ChuZhou in China. Maybe J&G doesn't know. Mine looked just like the ones pictured in the...

The CZ82 is a Sweet Shooting Pistol

They are identical to the ones sold by Wideners. Weld line on the front and back. "mfg CZ" on the bottom. If I had guess, the CZ stands for Chu-Zhou, a city in China. I sent them back. J&G wasn't happy and insisted there was nothing wrong with them, but did not try to assert they were made...

I lay a tarp out for the brass to fall on. Makes it easier to see them.

    Training For My Wife?

If you find yourself getting frustrated with her at the range, find another instructor. If your circle of friends allows, see if all the wives want to take a class together. My office had six wives attend a concealed carry course after the guys started a montly shooting outing. One wife later...

    Right Hand, Left Eye

I'm cross eye dominant. I don't hold the gun any different, and I don't see how turning your head a bit makes a difference...and it doesn't seem to for me. All that matters is you keep your sights aligned between your eye and the target. Maybe I'll try shooting with my right eye next time to...

How much are Yugo M 57 Tokarevs at gunshows

I have two M57s. The first one was so nice for $200 that I wanted another at that price. Both are accurate. The first one's safety worked fine. The second one did not. The holes through the frame were not drilled straight, but one side was off by about a 1/32". This meant one side of the...

    How reliable are Makarovs?

I have a Russian commercial Makarov (the Baikal by IMEZ) with the adjustable sights, a Bulgarian commercial Makarov (by Arsenal) that differs from the military version in terms of the rollmarks on the slide, and a CZ-82. I prefer them in reverse order: CZ82, Bulgy, Russian. The CZ has the...

If my daughter like the Beretta-92, what else might she like?

As others have said, the CZ-75 and Sig P226 also have that full size feel, but adjustable grips are not really there. You can now buy an "E2" P226 which has a thinner grip, but I don't think it is adjustable enough for you. I would try the Sig 2022...it is adjustable in the sense the you...

    Ammo stored in heat

Moisture is indeed bad for ammo, but high heat is as well. Personally, I would test a box, and if it works, only buy it to test the brand for feeding/extraction reliability, then plink it off. Buy fresh stuff for defense.

    Makarov trigger pull

Makarovs have nice triggers. I don't think Hungarians made any true Makarov pistols. They did make pistols chambered in the 9mm Makarov (9x18mm) cartridge. When using the term Makarov, you have to distinguish between the Makarov pistol and other pistols chambered for the 9mm Makarov...

    AMD Grip on a WASR?

Thanks guys...I really like the Galil pistol grip and the AMD looks close enough.

    AMD Grip on a WASR?

Anybody know if an AMD pistol grip will fit a WASR? If so, do I need to buy AMD grip screw/hardware?

    WASR 10/63 Examination

Thanks for the inputs so far guys... Any builders or people who know building want to tackle this: I need help figuring out the compliance parts bit...How many US parts does it need to have to be legal? I was told it has these US parts: trigger group (3 parts?), gas piston, muzzle brake...
