    3/4" 1018 steel VS. F.N. AP ammo.

" I decided to shoot some old F.N. 30-06 AP ammo into a piece of 3/4" thick annealed 1018 steel. " Not annealed. 1018 steel does not have enough Carbon in it to become hardened in the first place. It starts out soft, stays soft. If you shoot it with soft-nose hunting ammo you will get some...

Selling firearms and percentage takes; math is hard.

The fact that you can sell guns on Facebook does little to help me. As I posted, Facebook Marketplace does not allow guns or ammo. As for MeWe, I have never heard of it. The only "social media" I have heard of is Facebook (I am a member) and Twitter (I am not a member), and I have no desire...

Selling firearms and percentage takes; math is hard.

It sounds good to sell the gun locally. However, in my area, there are no longer any weekly ad papers in ciruclation and the two online (Facebook Market Place and Kraigs List) do not allow the advertising of guns or ammo. So that begs the question: where can a person advertise a gun for sale.

Article: According to the Founders, all federal gun restrictions are unconstitutional

"...America's founders wanted to ensure citizens had the ability to defend themselves against a tyrannical national government..." Can you post a link to information that the Second Amendment's purpose was to ensure the ability to defend against the national government?

    Magazine Loaders

It has "QBloader.com" and "QBloader" on it. When I load that website, it takes me to a Chinese site...so it is a knock-off, not Magpul. On the other hand, I have not used it yet...it may be functional anyway.

    Magazine Loaders

I bought one here for considerably less than what the previous posters have paid: https://www.goskte.com/products/gos?fbclid=IwAR0scFwOnGWNDo0hhHcaLzDSRIInQvVyfctkzySyAWziwJF_DcgWYOB1UgI

    .38 Super cracked magazine tube.

I have several .38 Super magazines and one of the originals is cracked. I don't really want to pitch the whole magazine, but would like to find just a .38 Super magazine tube that I can put the magazine spring and follower in. It is an attempt at frugalness...searches did not turn-up any empty...

    Finally made a holster

It was only your first holster/leather working effort. The first one is not the best you can do. Keep at it and you will likely get better. Here is a full-flap basket weave holster I made for my old "I" frame S&W .32 S&W Long.

Anybody use (blue) Lock-Tight on your scope mounts.....

"Because cheap rings typically can't be torqued as high as quality rings." It is not "the rings" that are being torqued...it is the screws.

Anybody use (blue) Lock-Tight on your scope mounts.....

There seems to be a suggestion in this thread that if one uses a "quality" as opposed to "cheap" I assume, that thread locking products are not required. That suggestion makes no sense to me in that mount screws, taps used to tap treads in the gun are all in accordance with the standards set...

I have a memory of a Chinese surplus 45-70 bolt action rifle,,,

Yes...I remember those Siamese Mausers. The orginal chamberng was for a large rimmed obsolete Siamese cartrige. And yes as I remember, Navy Arms was converting them to 45-70 and selling them in the U.S.

AR Builds -- What Parts Did You Choose and Why??

I added a vertical grip to my build because I have found that it is easier for my arthritic left hand to grip something that is vertical rather than the horizontal grip. The inexpensive vertical fore-grip also has a spring-loaded bipod as evident in the picture. In sum, the reason for the...

anyone had any luck removing rust from a nickeled sixgun

"...surface rust" No such thing. The formula for rust is: FeO (OH). The formula for Iron is: Fe2 (subscript 2). When Oxygen and Hydrogen are combined with Iron the resultant product is bigger than the Fe2 molecule it replaces. When physically removed from the piece of Iron (or steel), it...
