If you thin it any just use lard. Do not use crisco or other veg oils as they can oxidise and harden in the mechanism.

I honestly don't know the chemical reason but when I tried it for a time it coated the insides of the mechanism with a laquer like substance if it is not cleaned fairly quickly. It would not wash out with the normal soap and water and i had to peel it out and I think I used gasoline or something...

Tallow is good (firm enough) on its own except in very warm environments lard does not seem to go off especially when mixed with beeswax.

I never use Crisco it can turn to plastic in the mechanism if not cleaned often. A mix of beeswax and lard seems to be the best.

It was just an idea I personally don't like tomatoes either but they are getting more expensive. If these T7 pills are not consistant I don't want to mess with them for any reloading. Just my opinion.

One of the colt pocket police/navy I may only get one reliable shot but they are small enough that I would actually carry. I love the reliability of the 1858 Remington but it gets heavy on the hip for all day carry IMO.

A lot of stump removers available here in Nevada are actually sodium metabisulphate. You should be able to find a supplier of food grade salt peter through ebay. I just did a search and there are multiple sources for food grade salt peter.

Well I didn't know that the 30 30 was never a BP cartridge I always assumed it was being rimmed and shaped the way it is? Thanks for the heads up ill look into it more. My first response in truth would have been fill it with BP and stick some lead in the end LOL.
