    Suppressor Rebuild?

That’s a great suggestion! ECCO Machine threaded some barrels for me a few years ago. Did a great job on them! The price listed sounds very reasonable at $300 - 550. I checked out Liberty Suppressors and their 9mm suppressor upgrade is listed at $1,200. Thanks for the suggestion. Dan

    Suppressor Rebuild?

I have an old Gemtech Trinity 9mm suppressor. The suppressor has had less than 500 rounds through it in the 20 years I’ve owned it. It was very loud even when new. I would like to get it rebuilt as a dedicated suppressor for a HK SP5 SBR. Has anyone had an old suppressor rebuilt? Who did...

Loading considerations for open bolt SMG?

Thank you FROGO207! Will start looking at some +p data and grab a can of some more appropriate powder and report back. Appreciate your help! Dan

Loading considerations for open bolt SMG?

Ok I fired off all 83 rounds and and it didn’t go so great. Here’s my observations: it seemed excessively loud. I had a sound suppressor on the entire time and the rounds were definitely not going super sonic but seemed unusually loud. Bright flash even some flames out the ejection port. I...

Loading considerations for open bolt SMG?

Yes I have also noticed my gun runs best with hotter ammunition. I worked up to around 5.4 - 5.6 grains blue dot shooting a few rounds at a time in my back yard. According to the Hornady book max is 5.7 grains so they are on the hot side. They are not very quiet but are not breaking the sound...

Loading considerations for open bolt SMG?

I would like to develop a load for my full auto MAC10. The gun is a full size MAC but chambered in 9mm with an UZI mag well. Any special loading considerations for an open bolt? I’m planning to load some of what I believe is Hornady’s discontinued #35597 which is a 147 FMJ encapsulated boat...

    New S&W 1854 Lever Action .44

I’ve been waiting for a lever action like this. I can safely shoot in my back yard as much as I want as long as I keep it quiet. Been shooting my suppressed Ruger 77/357 for years now and reloading a ton of .357/.38 special but have been wanting a lever action. When they start making this in...

.38 special HBWC with 1.4 grains Bullseye

Also about detonation. So from what I’ve read detonation could possible occur because of too much volume inside the case. This is why I’m seating them back further. They really aren’t crimped either. I just took the bell off the end. I think the theory of how detonation could occur is that in a...

.38 special HBWC with 1.4 grains Bullseye

Well I fired off about 10 rounds or so. They all went off fine. I checked my charge weights every 5 rounds or so to confirm I was at 1.4 grains of Bullseye. They all seemed pretty consistent. Nothing got stuck in the bore. You can hear the flat bullet cutting through the air very clearly. It’s...

.38 special HBWC with 1.4 grains Bullseye

Ok. After reading everyone’s post and considering your thoughts I decided to load up 50 more using the same 1.4 grains Bullseye. I’ll post a report tomorrow. Thanks, Dan

.38 special HBWC with 1.4 grains Bullseye

I bought a box of Hornady hollow base wadcutters back a few months ago to experiment with. I began with the published starting loads in the Hornady manual and worked up to max. They have been a lot of fun! I even loaded up a batch of them backwards which was pretty cool in water jugs. The...

Berry’s Plated 158 grain loads for .357 and .38 special.

Well after reading everyone’s response I decided to stick with 5 grains of unique. As GRIZ22 says it’s kind of a +P load which is basically what I’m looking for. Just a good general use .38 special load for use in my rifle that hits hard and stays subsonic. I also worked up to 4.6 grains of...
