A lost or damaged magazine renders the semi-auto useless...
With a wheel gun, all you need is the gun itself, and some loose cartridges and you're good to go. :)
I'd say if they're the same weight, that's pretty good evidence that the internal volume is close enough to go on and use them as a lot--especially since you're not going to be pushing the envelope of pressure anyway.
I prefer Winchester cases myself, but whenever FC cases come my way, I find...
You can weigh the cases, and check internal volumes and compare.
The Federal brass will work better for you if you'll anneal it, even though it's once fired. It's hard to get consistent accuracy with this brass, but folks who anneal have reported acceptable results.
With the thicker brass of...
mine has checkered wood also...
I found this thread on a google search...
I recently traded for a Winchester 120. It's marked "full" for a full choke barrel, and it's got the checkered forearm and grip. No recoil pad, just a hard plastic butt plate.
Seems like a nice gun. None of the...
I didn't even know there was such a knife as a Byrd Cara Cara. I checked them out on ebay. And Spyderco makes these?
Why are they cheaper than the Endura, Delica, etc? Are they made in Japan or China?
I got my replacement Endura today, by the way... 43 dollars delivered wasn't as bad as I...
I found a decent deal on a barely used Endura 4 for 43 bucks, delivered, so I went on and got it.
I am looking also at the other knives suggested anyway... can't ever have too many. :)
I do like the toughness of the Endura, and that thick blade seems indestructible. Plus it's light, and fast...
I lost a good knife the other day... I think I dropped it out of my pocket when I was putting on a pair of coveralls at work. It was a Spyderco Endura, with a plain edge (I really don't like serrated edges).
I like the 4" blade length, as well as the thin and light profile of the knife. And...

I got a new hand (pawl) from Midway today. Got 500 Oregon Trail 240 grain lead semi-wadcutters too... :)
I measured the new hand, length to the lower tooth. It was .980" from the lower, pivot swell of the hand.
The old hand was .953" when measured in the same area. I peened...
I did order a part from Ruger. It wasn't free, but it only cost 5 bucks plus 3.50 shipping.
I did just find the part on Midway's site, and have it on the way also. I should have it in 3 or 4 days... got some bullets too, while I was at it. The pawl that Midway sells is supposed to be a...
Thanks, all...
Old Fuff, I'll check that pivot hole in the hammer when I take her back apart. Thanks for that tip, I had not even thought of that.
I'll hopefully be able to get the revolver timing right with a new hand, even if that hole is a little enlarged. Or else I'll be buying a...
I picked up my third Super Blackhawk the other day. This one has been well used, and has a slight timing issue. If you slowly and carefully cock the hammer, it will reach sear engagement BEFORE the bolt drops into the cylinder. That of course means that it would shave lead if you fired the...
