This load is shy of my major PF ipsc loads in my 1911. Thought since they were shorter I would drop the charge down a bit.
No blowback that I noticed.
Will bump the charge up a bit and tighten the crimp a bit and see how that works.
thanks
Went yesterday and shot my .45 acp Mech-Tech. Noticed that all the cases has quite a bit of soot on them after they were shot.
Not sure why.
Not enough powder? Not enough crimp? Not enough?????
Load is 200gr 200 Grain RNFP coated Missouri Bullet.
4.4gr WST
2.19 oal
WLP primers
Frame is...
9mm 124grn JRN. H. Universal. Shooting it in a S&W Shield
Trying for some mid range loads.
Looking in the Speer #12 reloading manual it shows 4.5 min to 5.0 max.
Looking on the Hodgdon site it shows 3.8 min to 4.4 max using a 124 GR. BERB HBRN TP.
Now I have no idea what 124 GR. BERB HBRN TP is...

I did re-crimp them. They all past the plunk test.
Mad
"The guy that loaded them was obviously not the most safety conscious reloader.

I agree
Everyone of the bullets I pulled were right on for powder and length. I fixed the crimp. The only reason I am using them is that is the way I...
"Is it a optical illusion or are the case mouths not level? or just the picture. Does the bulge cause the case mouth to angle?"
I see what you mean but don't think they are really not level. The picture was taken at an angle.
Almost everything this guy did was fine, as far as powder and length. He obviously didn't chamber check them as they do need to be crimped more.
This is from an other forum. I did crimp them properly before this happened. The cases above where form pulled bullets not fired by me.

After pulling the bullets out of about 1500 reloaded 9mm that someone else reloaded. In checking them I found these cases that I am tossing. Have no idea what happened.
What do you thing could have happened to these cases?

I don't see the problem. Spring what is Spring. We go from Winter (maybe like your Spring) to summer. :neener:
Anything shipped from back east is a bummer tho.:banghead:
I guess I said the same thing as witchhunter and Muddydogs.
Like rc said it does squeeze the bullet down. Just checked and a .224 bullet was at .220. Not sure if that is enough to change things but smaller none the less. Shooting would be the only way to check it and I haven't done that.
Well I shot alot in Richmond, CA right by the SF bay. Sweaty hands and all. One thing it is a slippery surface.
Not a bit of rust. No flaking not even on the slide rails. In fact the only thing I have noticed is that the finish has gotten darker with age and shooting.

I had my 45acp 1911 done many years ago when I shot it in IPSC open class. Now it is back to stock. Don't even know how many rounds have been thru it. LOTS.
Still don't see any real wear on it, even on the slide rails. Have 2 other guns that I want done. Not cheap but it seems to last forever...
