Was at a friend's house the other day and after some dry firing thought we would give it a try. Same thing, walking to the right but also walking high. Since the gun is for PP and that's the only type of shooting we do, I've taught her to shoot with both eyes open. After about 3 times of 5...
Lots of good comments.
SMLE - I'll stop today and get some snap caps.
Dave T - Ya right, that's mine! Just joking. The XD was the first pistol I bought for PP. Since then I have purchased a small variety of weapons for this reason. Both of us carry Kel-Tec .32's but I wanted something...
After returning from the range I looked at the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting book to see what the Misses might be doing wrong and it appears that she is "thumbing" the pistol. Might also be "heeling" it.
When shooting her .38 Spl she hits to the right (too far right for PP) and just a little...
Here is my situation I posted at another BB.
I have read articles that recommend you never under any circumstances volunteer information that you are carrying a concealed weapon because most LEO's don't know the laws and immediately freak out.
Having my CCP for NC & PA, I always carry when...
Thanks for the comments. I did a good cleaning last night and I did ever so lightly get rid of the burrs with 400 grit sandpaper. The really sharp edges anyway.
Also did the check listed at this BB and all was great except the cylinder gap, .0008! Not good according to what I read. Not...
Just picked up my first revolver, a S&W m642. I noticed that the (excuse my discriptions) tangs sticking out on the extracter are nicking the inside of the frame when closing the cylinder. I was wondering if a used 400 grit sandpaper to just barely take the edge off it would be OK.
The...
Thanks bubbygator, I have looked at them, not much on the laser sights personally.
You can find the strips at

All right, fell comfortable now about the S&W 642 (38 special) I bought Momma for Christmas. Question now is how to accessorize?
When buying the gun I also got a Hogue round butt rubber monogrip; she loved the feel of it in her hand. The gun will be used to carry in her car; she has a small...
Blackhawk, sure do.
This is a great site and learning alot about alot. These BB can be as adictive as shooting. Nice thing about it is you get to read alot of peoples ideas and thoughts at your convenence.
Thanks again Blackhawk.
SA XD9
I have to agree with some of the others about SA XD9. First off it is a large enough caliber for PP, second it is the cheapest ammo, third it is a comfortable gun to shoot.
I would recommend going to the gun dealer and handling a variety of models and see what "feels" good in your...
Web Site
When you go to the web site:
http://www.smith-wesson.com/products/firearms/select_firearm.cfm
Under the "select firearm caliber" it list as seperate selections:
.38 S&W Special +p
and
.38 Special +P
That's what is confusing to me. Why list them as two seperate...
Understand but....
Thanks all for the information but it just don't make since why on the S&W web site you have to choose between ".38 special" and ".38 S&W special" and it list different models (all new) when there is no difference.
O'well, important thing is that I didn't goof and buy...
Adictive!
Thanks for all the information.
I bought my first hand gun for PP at the beginning of the year and the 642 will be my.....sixth gun. I've read up on 32, 9mm, 20 gauge and now learning, exploring 38 special. It seems as though I always get interested in hobbies that cost a few...
