    Any vintage Sako guys here?

The bolt issue sounds like abuse... and it was apparently shot out? I have 3 day inspection on this gun if I get it, and I will DEFINITELY be taking it to a gunsmith to have all tolerances checked out for that price!

    Any vintage Sako guys here?

When did you originally sign up? I'm wondering if I should give up on them and keep looking for info elsewhere... it's a shame because there's a lot of knowledgeable people there.

    Any vintage Sako guys here?

I actually joined sakocollectors Sunday... went through the email activation but I'm still waiting for them to give the final approval. I really want to ask a few things there before buying but don't want to miss out on a rifle because of it... I can't even see photo attachments in threads. So...

    Youth shotgun

I agree with the 870. My 9 year old used his brother's Mossy 500 to get his first turkey this year... the stiff safety on the Mossberg was too tough for him to deactivate quietly. I had to reach over and do it for him when the bird was behind a tree. The 870 safety is much easier for a kid to...

    Any vintage Sako guys here?

I want/need a .270 in my collection again and am thinking of getting more collectable/rare stuff that can't be found by Joe Schmoe waltzing into any local gun store. I've heard the accuracy stories about the Sako rifles (I'm an accuracy fiend), and found a pre-Garcia Finnbear L61R Deluxe in...

    Which Ruger MKII?

I was thinking about the tacsol upper as well, they're pretty expensive. I'd like one, but am not sure if they're worth it...

    Which Ruger MKII?

I've been wanting to get a Ruger .22 MK something-or-other for a while now. I don't think I need all the 'extras' that a MKIII comes with. A local shop has three Mark II pistols available. All are blued finish. 1. Regular, run of the mill blued MKII, nonadjustable sights. $170 2. Target...

HELP! Where to get Rem. 700 trigger adjustment screws

It's a smaller "40" pitch thread. I found a screw that fits in my assorted bolts bin, but it's brass and won't hold up. I guess I'll just get a steel screw of the correct pitch, cut it off at the correct length and slot it for a screwdriver. Bear season is next Monday. I think I'll buy one...

HELP! Where to get Rem. 700 trigger adjustment screws

I was adjusting the trigger on a new Rem. 700, and they were really cemented in. After backing out the overtravel screw, the notch rounded out so that I can't use it. All I need is a replacement set screw of that length (fine thread, I believe) and Remington won't send me one because "Your gun...

    Saiga-12 Questions

They do work with Saigas, but you have to move the trigger group forward and out of the way, and you have to cut out the hole for the pistol grip yourself. Look at a stock S12 and see how far back the trigger sits on the gun compared to a normal AK.

    Saiga-12 Questions

That's true, if you're not a do it yourself type, you would probably be better off sending it to Tony... and the resale value would be higher too, I would imagine. Some of the reason I did it myself is because I have several AK parts kits sitting around to build and it was a good way to get...

    Saiga-12 Questions

Buying a factory pistol grip setup in the S12 is VERY expensive. I bought and converted mine after the AWB went away, but you still have to deal with 922, which means you also have to concern yourself with the US parts count, so you at least have to use a US pistol grip and a new trigger group...

    Saiga-12 Questions

I bought mine before they stopped importing them a while back for $225, I think. I knew the price would go up so I bought one before they dried up. I bought a US trigger group, a TAPCO SAW grip, and a regular Romanian folder. I used the dremel, got it apart, moved a few things around, and...

Whats the point of owning an SKS?

Get some of those fancy golf ball launchers and you won't have to find dummy grenades. May even improve your golf score when you break out your 7.62 iron. Golf Ball Launchers

    Saiga-12 Questions

For hunting, I took a piece of wood and shaved it down until it fit easily inside the spring, and cut it so that the 5 rounder only takes 2. A lot cheaper than trying to find a silly 2 round magazine!
