USPSA draw and mag change split times

Sorry to resurrect a zombie thread but I had to share - I'm a bit over a year into my restarting of USPSA and I just got bumped to "B" in Production. Thanks to everyone here for helping me get started, it's been a fantastic time!!

    What stock to buy

Hi everyone, I have a Savage 111 Trophy Hunter XP that I'm working on turning into a beginner's F-class rig (me being the beginner). I bought a 30" Pac Nor barrel in 6.5x284. I need to upgrade the stock for this to work. The Trophy Hunter XP has an all polymer stock, including the "bottom...

    Starting F-Class rig

Nature Boy - thanks for taking the time to type that all out, good info all around. As far as the rest goes, I was thinking this: http://www.grizzly.com/products/Bald-Eagle-Triangle-Windage-Rest-Cast-Iron/BE1153 I'm sure there are some out there that are fancier and whatnot, but I think that...

    Small pistol primers.

I did a bunch of Chrono testing and found out switching from reg small CCIs to magnum CCIs in my CZ75 SP-01 is good for about 15fps speed increase.

    What is your “Loudest” Gun?

Ruger American in 7mm Rem Mag with a brake. My girlfriend shot it this year at a deer without hearing protection and her ear was ringing for a couple of days. She also sat next to it (with ears on) when I shot it and said the muzzle blast directed sideways was like "a hurricane of hot" or...

    Starting F-Class rig

Soupy - I asked my mother"s friends (he shoots high power) and he said that frequently at his matches, off at the end of the firing line, there will be a few F-class guys that the match organizers let shoot too. I'm hoping to get to a match and then find out some more things like that. Jim -...

    Starting F-Class rig

Thanks for the encouragement everyone! The only "issue" I've found is that there aren't as many places to shoot F-class...I guess I've gotten spoiled shooting USPSA where every weekend I have a match (or two) that I can shoot within 2 hours of me. Should be able to make a few matches next year...

    Starting F-Class rig

Hi everyone, I'm planning on getting into F-class next year (probably have said that 3 times now, but I think the financial winds are aligning to make it a reality). What I'd be looking at for a rig is the following: Savage long action (trigger modified to be about 1.5 pounds) (already own)...

    Always think safety!!

Thanks for all the replies and stories everyone. A few days after the fact and my eye is still doing well, so I'm going to say that I came out of it unscathed. Fortunately.

    Always think safety!!

Hi everyone, Had a safety whoopsies today I thought I'd share. I shoot USPSA Production with a CZ75 SP-01 Tactical that I modded out pretty extensively (pretty much anything that Cajun sells is on it). I did all the install myself, so after a full season and probably 3k rounds downrange, I...

CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical (decocker) sear pin dimensions

Hi everyone, Would like to disassemble my CZ 75 SP-01 Tact. When you push the decocker lever out, it's best practice to slide in behind it a pin to keep the sear cage together. Does anyone know what the dimensions on that pin are? I'd rather not wait till the middle of the week to get one...

    CZ 75 9mm and 147 Grainers

I shoot an SP-01 in USPSA Production class and I run these: http://www.acmebullet.com/bullets-reloading-brass/9MM-Lead-Cast-Reloading-Bullets?product_id=456 Match load is that over 3.3 grains of Win 231 with a CCI primer and a COAL of 1.09". Regular primer (CCI 500) is good for about 905 fps...

Best "bang for buck" in progressive presses for pistol

So...what's a powder check die? I just glance in the die before I put the bullet on top....

Best "bang for buck" in progressive presses for pistol

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I could pillage some of the stuff off of my Pro 1000 (case feeder, powder measure)... EDIT: and it looks like they fixed the primer feed issues?
