    Were AR15's legal?

Think this may be pertinent: 30605. (a) Any person who, within this state, possesses any assault weapon, except as provided in this chapter, shall be punished by imprisonment in a county jail for a period not exceeding one year, or by imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section...

    Were AR15's legal?

Doesn't look to me that you can legally possess a typical AR15 in california, based on the above law.....I'm not a californian, so I'm just googling to try and understand their laws.....

    Were AR15's legal?

Any person who, within this state, manufactures or causes to be manufactured, distributes, transports, or imports into the state, keeps for sale, or offers or exposes for sale, or who gives or lends any assault weapon or any .50 BMG rifle, except as provided by this chapter, is guilty of a...

    Were AR15's legal?

Can you explain this to me? I thought that in general, AR15's were not allowed in California (possibly unless bought prior to 1989?) -- yet the media are reporting that the AR15's used yesterday were "legally purchased" 3 or 4 years ago.... Am I confused about California law? Are there...

    A cheap scope can work....sometimes

My only real experience is with the 4–16 X. Centerpoint. I have I think three on rifles, no problem so far, and I have three spares --I thought they were such a great deal. I was just blown away when it worked fine on the 50 Cal. Shirley that is a pretty rigorous test!

    A cheap scope can work....sometimes

Maybe Walmart has some data (customer complaint/return data?) that caused them to select these scopes for sale? Their turrets seem different from some others to me...

    Scope recommendations

What's between your ears is more important than what's in front of your eyes. What you've learned about stance and hold, how you make recoil identically handled each time, your choice of what to do with the fore arm & the recoil characteristics of whatever surface it touches or what you hold it...

    NcStar scopes

I only have experience with a pistol NcStar that I mounted on the rear sight of a couple Mosin-Nag-ants and used it as a scout scope. I think they were 2 to 7 power. Now you need to know that I underload my Mosin-Nagant handloads because I want the brass to last a long time. I'll typically...

    Scope recommendations

Unless you're going after expensive game, I'm with the fellow who voted for cheap scopes. Here's my story: getting rid of parallax is your main goal if you're punching paper at good distances. For several years I've used the center point $69 4-16X power adjustable objective Walmart scope...

    A cheap scope can work....sometimes

$69 4-16X centerpoints still going strong on 50bmg, 7mm08 and others. They don't "count turns" but otherwise have been fine

    Latest Info on SCCY CPX-2

If you have problems with failure to extract with the PF9, adding a second flat spring on top of the first, with the new 6–32 screw with another thread or two may fix the problem. Worked great for me. The slightly longer screw is important, otherwise firing pin may escape, The spring screw...

    Taurus service did well

And I might should point out that I never even called them. I just followed the instructions on their website, and never had to sit on the telephone even once. Their website is pretty clear, repairs are free, unless you did something incredibly incredibly stupid

    Taurus service did well

Well it sure changed my opinion of taurus significantly more positively. I have firearms from most of the cheap manufacturers, Savage, Ruger 10/22, Keltec, taurus, and very few pricey models such as Beretta etc. (just bought a used Beretta, first Beretta). I like the Keltec's because parts...

    Taurus service did well

Thanks. Yes, that FFL (and others in my area) have treated me well. I've steered a fair amount of business in their direction. I only have a few "high dollar" pistols/revolvers, and then several "cheaper" keltec / taurus types, where my main requirement is that it doesn't jam, and it goes...

SCCY 9mm - Blowback, Short Recoil, Delayed Recoil, or What Other Operation System?

I have several P11's which sometimes need a tiny bit of work on the extractor to function well (see internet posts explaining it elsewhere) and am fairly happy with them; I have a friend with a SCCY and he is happy with his. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; I like mine better. These...
