Generally, you can lighten the gate tension somewhat & hone around the rough inside port edges, then just load the gun. I have never, in 40 years of levergunning, gotten that staging silliness to work reliably. :) Denis

My pet coachgun is an old Savage Stevens 311R. That one will never go, but I'm liking not having to fiddle with moving my finger around between triggers on this CZ. Don't really want to get up over a grand for a coachgun I wouldn't be using all that much. Denis

Huglu's done some good stuff in the past, and CZ's hammer coachgun was one of the best I've ever tried. Liking what I find on this hammerless, and the pricing isn't quite down into Chinese levels. :) I'm liking the monobloc, mechanical trigger, and coil springs. I specifically like that single...

Most, one way or another. Most guns put out today are kit guns, 90% finished by their makers. Grips are a minimum, usually, with sights, action work, etc. as needed to fit my requirements. Occasionally a full-blown rebuild. Denis
