Tell Me About The Bloopers You Had While Carrying

During a very intense 2-day advanced fighting pistol course, while taking a break, I nearly dropped my Glock 22 into the deep blue/black water of the portable toilet. I caught it as it fell out of my holster, mid-air. The thought of having to fish that out, well.... I'm now very careful now...

Anyone sold a gun on Gunsamerica?

Gunmountain.com kept it simple, yet their advanced search is powerful and allows searches that can separate between dealer sold items and private sellers. I like that feature.

Dillon 550B plastic powder tube dirty

I read on one of these forums that orange oil based pumice type hand cleaner will do a decent job of clearing up the yellowed plastic tube. Haven't tried it yet myself though.

Bought the wrong primers - can I use 'em

I did the same thing and decide I'd call CCI and ask if it was OK? They said no, don't do it. I was told not to use magnum primers in non-magnum calibers. Out of curiosity I asked them why and they obliged with an explanation. It not only changes the burn rate used in the developed published...

Why in the world Steyr the "blacksheep" of the polymer handgun market?

Glock already answered all the questions quite well, many years before the other poly clones started to show up.

    Which .45 Colt Revolver?

I like the Ruger Old Model Vaquero, especially if you are reloading. It will take the hotter loads without breaking a sweat.

    New acquisition: S&W Model 617!

Nice one! You will really enjoy the accuracy of the Model 617. Makes for a great trainer too. If anyone ever challenges you to some long range handgun shooting or hunting, you got the revolver to win right there buddy. Is that an alloy cylinder 10-shot? Enjoy!

    Kel-Tec Su-16CA

I have several pre-ban AR-15's, M1A's, M1 Carbines, and M1 Garands. I'm buying the Kel-Tec because it is LIGHT, and IT FOLDS, and therefore I can stick it in my day pack with a couple of magazines for when I hike with the Sierra Club :what:  . I can't do that with any of the other semi's.

Well, I'm officially in love with my Smith and Wesson

I despise the lock too, but you know, I think it is here to stay. On the blued guns it doesn't stand out near as much. You can grind of the locking lug internally and the lock cannot engage. I did that on some of my hunting revolvers and have never had a problem.

Well, I'm officially in love with my Smith and Wesson

Hello Coot, Thanks for the compliment! The grips are made by a guy in Colorado named Pat Grashorn, Grashorn Gunworks (970) 737-2541, He does excellent work. The fit and finish are near perfect, and you pay less than half of what the real factory sets go for. These are from Elk antler, but...

S&W Model 22 .45ACP revolver and guess what my s/n is?

Very cool! I tried to track that one down. That's a lucky find. I would buy another for shooting if I were you. I ended up with number 007. I also have TRR0021. It is new in box, and is for sale. If interested, shoot me an email.
