You know what, it's funny you mention that. I held one a while ago and I was impressed... I could reach the DA trigger and just by looking at it, I sure didn't think I would be able to. Well put together pistol and good price too. I might have to look at that again, I had completely forgotten...
Trying to reply to all points made since my last reply…
I've tried both an SR9 and an SR9c… both had equally heavy triggers. Tried them both at different stores and different times (SR9 earlier this year and SR9c just yesterday).
1911s aren't a problem for me, 'cept for the magazine...
I had a M&P9 for a while, had the same problem with the thumb joint on that one as I did with the Glocks. The beavertail would be bloody after 50 rounds or so...
Like I said before, I don't really benefit from the whole backstrap thing for some reason... it changes the hump on the bottom of...
The backstraps don't seem to make much of a difference for me. They don't change the trigger reach so much as they change the "hump" on the bottom of the grip. I had a Walther P99 that worked pretty well for me as well as an M&P9... they both had adjustable backstraps and they didn't change my...
I've been looking all over trying to find a new gun just 'cause. I haven't gotten anything new in over a year and well, I want something new :D. The trouble is, it's really hard to find a handgun that fits my hand. My mits are very small, with really short fingers, and I'm kind of embarrassed...
I'm not sure about internals and such, but I know the P30 has replacable palmswells as well as backstraps. The p2000 only has backstraps I believe. I also think they can both be had with several different versions of the LEM trigger, DA/SA, or DAO. Other than that, the only differences I can...
I feel your pain!
The only double stack guns I've been able to reach the slide release on have been the Walther P99 and the Sig P226/229. I haven't been able to reach the magazine release on any pistols without an ambidextrous control ever... And on those pistols, I have to use the middle or...
I guess i'm just not that good with my left hand... I have to change my grip to reload no matter what. My thumb isn't long enough to manipulate the cylinder release latch without changing my grip.
Oh well, no sense complaining. :)
Maybe a weird question about revolver design, but...
Why does the cylinder open to the left?
It seems that it would be much easier to load from the right as a right handed shooter.
Is it a matter of tradition? Some design aspect that necessitates it?
I'm just curious... :)...
I wonder if firing any of those loads out of a 4" barrel would result in any of the rounds expanding more? How much more velocity would be gained by two more inches of barrel? Something tells me the results might be a little different...
And thanks JE223 for all your hard work.
I definitely suggest a used K-Frame!!! I own both a K-Frame (nickel 15-3) and a GP-100 and the K-Frame is a much nicer gun IMHO. .38 out of a 4" barrel is more than enough for your stated purposes and it is SO MUCH FUN to shoot! K-Frames RULE!!!
I wouldn't be worried. Like the previous poster stated, his feedback is quite positive. I've bought many things from gunbroker where the seller only accepted money orders or personal checks, it's not that uncommon as paypal and the gun-centric equivalent, I can't remember it's name, don't have...
