    used cva optima v2?

It would depend on where you are buying it from. I was at Cabela's last year with nothing really on my mind to buy. I found a CVA Accura V2LR Hunter in the bargin cave for $250 which was a bit less than half of a new one. I bought it knowing that if a squeaked loud enough I could most likely...

My Recent Love Affair with the .243

150gr was probably a typo. Poster may have transposed numbers and meant 105 grs. With that said, I built a fast twisted 243 Win on a Rem 49 X action several years ago. It's 1:7.5 Krieger barrel was throated for a 115gr DTAC and along with a Nightforce optic, Mc Millan stock and Shilen 2oz...

    Limb saver recoils pads?

Trade off's While Limbsavers do reduce felt recoil somewhat they are no where close to the reduction of a good muzzle brake. They also react with different types of material such as wood and carpeting kind of like melting and becoming gooey . They attract dirt/grass and other stuff when they...

    Kimber, Cooper, or something else?

I have several of both, The wood, fit/finish and accuracy are excellent with all of them. Recently built my daughter a 22-250 off a M22 action and its a real hammer.

    243 build

Scott I built a fast twisted 243 a few years ago to shoot the 115gr DTAC. I used a 1.250" straight Krieger 1:7.5 twist barrel and a Mc Millan A5 adjustable stock. I did this with the purpose of shooting 600 and out. It shoots very well with the DTAC's as well as others. I use a lot of Hornady...

    Rem 700 barrel threads

If not setting the barrel back and rechambering the headspace is going to dictate the where the roll marks wind up at. Unless you are lucky you will have to surface grind the recoil lug to get headspace set correctly using a previously chambered barrel such as a take off 7mm-08

Does threading a barrel add or decrease value to the gun?

Let me state this again.... I have approved forms with stamps on them right in front of me at the moment with the word SUPPRESSOR filled in box b. Are you implying that I am making this up and the ATF doesn't accept the term "suppressor" in box b?

Does threading a barrel add or decrease value to the gun?

Sounds like your local law enforcement doesn't have a clue just like a few folks in this thread. I have approved forms with stamps on them right in front of me at the moment with the word SUPPRESSOR filled in box b.

Does threading a barrel add or decrease value to the gun?

This is simply not true. I have several forms that are approved and in box b where it asks "Type of Firearm" the word SUPPRESSOR is printed. I also have several forms with the word silencer in the b box. I buy or build a firearm to use and the thought of resell value doesn't cross my mind. I...

Help me buy my Wife a new gun please.

My youngest daughter is small framed and weighs 95lbs soaking wet and doesn't like recoil. I am slowly working her up the ladder in shooting larger cartridges. Mandy and I just finished building her a 22-250. She is spoiled and has grown up around suppressed weapons and wanted this one this...

Help me buy my Wife a new gun please.

You can keep her 308 Win. and do many things to help with recoil management. Some just off the top of my head...... Install weights in the butt.. Thread and install and muzzle brake. Thread and install a suppressor Install a good recoil pad. Have the stock fitted to her, maybe...

    Targets Home made or production

Myself and family shoot a lot of steel but at times shoot other reactive targets. My youngest daughter wanted something different the other day so we filled a quart oil bottle up with red colored water. This is what it looked like when she shot it a 250 yards with her 22-250 we just built...

    Cheek weld prone vs. bench

Pintler I use stainless steel carriage bolts. They have a square shoulder on them so they they can't turn in the slots. I face the head off so it is thin and doesn't stick out much at all., I make the nut out of aluminum and knurl it so it's finger adjustable. I cerakote the hardware Graphite...
