The same way they make accurate rifle rounds. Find the best OAL for your barrel with that projectile then do ladder testing with different powders to find which one works best with your gun/projectile/OAL. Also use a chrono to help determine which charge is also is most consistent.

My guns like them better, they recoil less and when you do the math, they are only .003 cents more per bullet.

As mentioned, it doesn't meter well, and it is dirty. but it's a great powder. I broke my right wrist a few months ago, so all that I have been able to do is load / chrono testing of 9mm bench rested shooting left handed. I have tested 3 different projectiles with 5 different powders so far...

Both, wet tumble cases, dry tumble loaded rounds.

I've been doing a lot of 9MM load testing with different powder and projectile combinations since I picked up a chrono earlier this year. So far the most accurate and consistent round that I have found uses Unique.

I spent 30 years working for appliance and electronics retailers. A long time ago, the smaller retailers learned to form buyers groups to pool their buying power and purchase in larger quantity so they could compete with big retail. Mom and pop gun stores need to figure this out.
