Anyone had good accuracy with a 405g cast lead bullet, at long ranges?

Not sure if this changes your calculus at all, but FWIW 100 meters is 109 yards, not 164.

    SHOW YOUR OLD POWDER!

Didn’t see anyone else post a 3 pound Winchester can. It’s next to an almost-full can of 571 that’s marked “$4.00”. Would have been from the 70s.

    Bulk powder question

It’s empty, but I might be able to get a few kernels out and take a picture. Definitely ball powder.

Where are Reloading Components Available. (Not a Discussion Thread, Link Required)

Transtech Firearms is pretty clearly a scam site. I don’t find Selnay Armory.

    Winchester W Box- LC brass

Winchester started operating the Lake City Arsenal in October of 2020. That might explain it.

Prepping military .223/5.56 - tips from experts?

If by chance you have a Hornady LNL progressive, Hornady makes a great setup to swage the primer pockets.

    Reloading supplies legit or scam?

Looks like they “borrowed” Scheel’s site. They missed replacing Scheel’s once at the beginning of the text. https://reloading-supplies.com/terms-and-conditions/ https://www.scheels.com/terms-and-conditions.html

Anyone having issues w/ RCBS AR series SB dies?

My die is down so low the lock ring isn't on many threads at the top. I had to grind a small amount off the bottom of the die to be able to adjust it low enough to push the shoulder back far enough on Lake City brass to fit a case gauge without pushing too hard on the shellplate.

    What powdah is dis?

I have 540, and it has somewhat the same shape, but every kernel is flattened. I'm thinking 473AA or 452AA. They both look very similar to the OP's picture, with 452AA being a much smaller kernel. Neither seems quite as dark and shiny, but maybe that's the lighting. I found (in Speer #11) .45...

LNL AP - primer shuttle problem

When the shuttle on my press sticks it's always because the primer punch has hung up. If the top of the punch isn't below the top of the outer ring it's too high. The slightest debris will keep it from retracting all the way.

    First run....hitting at about 60%

You're using Winchester bullets, correct? I bought a whole bunch of 125 grain Win. hollow points, and the cannelures are all over the place. I can't tell for sure if that's the problem with your middle round that looks like the bullet's seated high, but you might compare a few bullets.

    Lock N Load

Don't forget shellplates. I'd urge you to get an RCBS powder lockout die, too. Probably some extra bushings so caliber-swapping is faster. And make sure the kit comes with a pistol rotor for the powder measure. I believe they do now, but you'll be stuck if it doesn't come with your press.
