I bought a rio bravo last fall and I really like it. It pulls up fast and fits. The open sights were kind of course so I scoped it. The accuracy is good. My only complaint was the trigger pull was a little to much, but after some polishing it's excellent.
I picked up a Rio Bravo this year. It's a good sbooter. The trigger was a little harsh but a little bit of polishing corrected that. The action is smooth and the fit and finish is reasonable.
I have a 783 that is my woodchuck gun. I'm zeroed at 100yds. I've killed woodchucks out as far as 175yds with it, Great gun. When they were built the safety wasn't backwards.
I had one that would randomly go off when I chambered a round. I would randomly go off when I was unloading with the safety on. I took it to a gun smith who couldn't fix it. It's history now.
I use an old inner tube cut into 15" section's. I use a zip tie on each end an fill them sand. Three of these can be piled to create different height shooting rests.
I picked up this 22 rifle as a project a few years ago. I have up and running but one problem with it was the inner magazine tube was missing. Numrich said one for a Nobel 235 would work and it does but it is one shell to short. Because the shell lifter can't reach the magazine follower the last...
Modern computerized machines make the whole gun without much hand fitting needing to be done. (Granted more should be done.) In the old days machines didn't work to as close a tolerances as today's machines do, so the only way the the rifles went together was with a lot of hand fitting.
I have 3 Rossi's all .357, one is a 24" stainless octagon, another is a case hardened 20" octagon, and the first one I bought was a 20" stainless round barrel. Ammo for .357 is readily available and inexpensive it makes sense to buy that caliber. The 20" octagon has been my problem child, it...
My gun will not fire if I hold the trigger and pump it, you can't even complete the pump cycle. I will be looking at the firing pin catch and spring. I have a copy of remingtons service instructions that is good for basic tear down and reassembly. I have been a mechanic for 40 years so it's just...
