I have 721OT holsters for my XD and SP101 and like them very well. Very comfortable and secure. Rides high and holds the gun securely.
Another one you may want to consider is the H710. I've been using one of these lately for my XD45 and it has become my primary holster. Have another for...
I use a thin aluminum open end wrench to take pressure off the recoil spring so I can get the slide stop back in. I put it on the end of the recoil spring, pointing up toward the front sight. Works great and falls out once you rack the slide. It's about 1/8" thick.
Another Beltman Fan
I have three from the Beltman.
The first was a 1.25" bullhide with the internal stiffner. The second is a 1.25" horsehide. These two were actually purchased as dress belts and are worn with suits at least a couple of times a week. No one has ever suspected they are...
Park Service spokesman David Barna clearly has no understanding of the mindset of Concealed Carry.
Kind of like those college dormitories, they are completely safe.
Oh wait . . . . .
Of the three you mention, the Don Hume 721 OT is the only one I have used. I have three of them, two for my XDs and one for a Ruger SP 101. The one I carry my XD SC in is the most comfortable holster I have. I've tried a number of others, some as recent as today, and many that cost a lot...
MCgunner - glad it worked ok for you.
Lifting your arm up and exposing the barrel can be a problem, you just have to watch that movement I guess. I don't notice it as much since the barrel length I carry is 2" or so, but if it is an OWB holster, that will always be an issue under some...
I'm getting into this discussion late - Chaim I'm glad to see you were able to find the revolver that you are happy with. I honestly had to read through the thread a couple of times - there are a lot of interesting and in depth comments.
I'll comment on a couple of points, perhaps someone...
Ha - I would never have thought about the sight melting, but that makes sense. I carry my SP 101 regularly, and with my bi focal glasses, plus my eyesight getting a little worse it really helps a lot.
Gemini Sights
The only change I've made to my 2" SP 101 was the sights, but it was a big change for the better.

I sometimes use a JIT for a Ruger SP 101 and an ultralite Taurus 851. Have a couple more for use with semi-autos as well. What I really like the JIT for is when I am driving. Very comfortable.
It conceals ok with a flannel shirt or jacket over it. If you like the Don Hume line, and I...
Neat idea Wiry!
I appreciate your ingenuity.
If the net being too taut causes a problem - could you fashion a more solid back at the top, and angle it at about 45 degrees to direct the brass down? Picture the back of a pellet trap and you'll see what I mean. Something lightweight, even a...
I've tried the Ghost Glow and the regular high vis paints from Bright Sights. I like the high vis type for a periodic touch up on my XDs. Can't really say that I liked the Ghost Glow that much. They do work somewhat as a night sight, but I didn't think they were that visible in low light...
