I have a Savage model 12 BVSS. Too heavy for what your looking for, but the 1:9 twist shoots great with heavier bullets. Mine really likes 69g, but shoots the 62 and 64 grains quite well. I recently tried some 75g and they seemed good shooters as well.
Mine was accurate and dependable and more then good enough for home defense. Never carried it though and sold it after a few years. And never had “sellers remorse” after getting rid of it.
I have a BT-99, single barrel break open action in 12 gauge for trap. I really like the gun but if I was going to get one today I would buy a 12 gauge Browning Citori o/u with at least a 30” barrel.Then you would be set for any type of clays.
No primers I my area either. I have received a couple of emails for primers in stock. But at $74.99/1000 plus hazmat and shipping you are looking at about $120 per thousand. I”ll just shoot a less and make what I have last a while.
I have a Bushnell Elite 4200 on my hunting rifle. This is the second rifle for this scope. It is approximately 15 years old and has held up well in all kinds of weather. I haven’t purchased a Bushnell recently so I don’t know how the quality is today.
