Need a little help with The .44 Mag load.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Alliant 2400 yet. Great for medium to max loads. H110 is only good for max loads. I'm getting a small 44 mag pistol soon, so I'm interested in reduced loads as well.

    Primer Pocket Swager

Rcbs is about $70. Lube the head now and then. Bolt to 2x4, then c-clamp the whole thing to your bench when needed. I'm sure they're both good, rather simple.

    No Reloading Brass on Ebay...?

Banned on Craig's list too. I don't use either anymore... At all. Amazon is your best bet.

    .45 ACP Measurement

.472 is the absolute max diameter. Expect jams beyond that. Target .469 on average. Measure multiple sides. ... They're not always perfectly round either. Brass length determines crimp diameter, so measure a bunch before you lock down your dies.

Please suggest a better tool re: crimped primers

Rcbs BENCH mount pocket swager. Especially if you don't have a single stage press. I use that and touch it with the brass deburr tool as well. Lube the swaging head before use too. Resulting brass looks and feels just like commercial equivalents.

    6559 reloaded shells to date

I keep all my spent primers in a bag and weigh them now and then... I estimate there are over 25000.

    45 Reloads Don't Plunk

.468 to .470 on the crimp. 1.243 is my typical oal for extreme 230's. Sizing die all the way down? No buldge at the base? Bullet engaging the rifling? Your oal is long, as others have indicated.

RCBS Bench Primer: lubing the plunger stem.

I use a little rcbs lube on the swaged head via qtip Evey dozen rounds or so. (Using their new bench mount swaging tool)

Yay! Great mount. Rcbs really over builds that thing. It will last for generations.

    Shrapnel from 44mag

Please don't use plated bullets in 44mag. They shed their plating in the forcing cone, and schrapnel will make your face bleed. I really tried to make them work in my super Redhawk as well. 1430fps was a mess, 1200 shed 1 in 3 jackets. Look for layers of foil in your forcing cone. I wound...

    Brass score!

If u have a cop friend, ask them for 40s&w. California highway patrol uses Remington nickle plated brass.
