Flying From TX with Layover In Chicago

No problem at all, Chicago doesn't have any restrictions on what pistol or magazine you can own. I live in the area....

    Bump in the night loadout?

While reading your post (1\2 way through) the dog went full beast mode, and ran to the back door, I dropped my tablet on the bed grabbed my nightstand pistol and a flashlight and ran after him in my underwear. Suggestions on caliber?

I went with a savage pc10 in .308 as my "all around" rifle. I've shot paper out to 600yds with excellent results using 168gr hpbt, and use soft points for hunting white tail in WI and hog in TX. I also wouldn't think twice on getting a 30-06. In my experience I've never seen anyone sold out of...

Pocket 380 that's fun to shoot?

Don't trust the loaded weight numbers, I have a kahr P380, a SIG 238, Glock 42, the kahr is the lightest, followed by the Glock, the SIG is the heaviest. I have not noticed much difference carrying the Glock or kahr even though the Glock is bigger. The SIG just feels heavy and bulky on the belt...

Nobody should have known you were carrying . . .

I live in Illinois and carry legally, I don't really care if I'm seen, and I think no one really notices around here unless they're gun people too.

    Do you like Pearlite Grips?

I have a set of real mother of pearl colt grips for a 1911 sitting in a drawer, not on my 1911.

    S&W 36-1 4" bull barrel?

36-1 should be a 3" heavy barrel 38 SPL j-frame. They were made with both square butt and round butt. I like mine, nice guns. 3" j-frames have full length extractor rods, are more accurate than 1-7/8ths j's, are more controllable, and the added barrel length means higher velocity.

    What Is Your Drawer Gun?

Jericho 945, because it has gone bang every single time I've asked it to in the last 10+ years and with any ammo.

    what handgun to buy next?

Russ, if you go out and just impulse buy like I sometimes do you kind of run out of ideas. archangelcd, I have a colt 1991a1 that I let a gunsmith loose on and is just about a "race gun" minus the optics and compensator, also have a colt gold cup match, and a few more 1911's including kimbers. I...
