    22 Savage high power loads

I've found information that sugests you can reform 25-35 brass into 22 savage simply by running it through a full length 22 resizing die. It's a very similar case and the neck reduction isn't much but does this sound like it will work ok? Jay

    22 Savage high power loads

NCsmitty, Yes, according to the burn tables it's similar to 4064, R15, N140 & Norma 202. The last two are listed for the 22 HP and R15 does well in the 219 zipper & the 25-35 with heavier bullets so it should work well. May be worth asking Accurate if they have any data. Jay

    22 Savage high power loads

Hope someone can help here; I've just got a Savage 1899H in 22 high power (made in 1915) it's in good sound condition. I can get brass and heads by Sellior & Bellot or Norma and I can get dies but I can find very little info on loads. The best I've come up with so far is 22-25gr of IMR 3031...

    Uberti 1873; 44-40 or 45 Colt?

I'm considering buying a Uberti 1873 short rifle. I can't decide between getting one in 44-40 or 45 Colt. The 44-40 is more original than the Colt but... I'll be hand loading, there doesn't seem to be much difference in the availability or cost of heads (I'm assuming the 44-40 Uberti copy...

    Browning A5 forend repair

Thanks, I can get Brownells Acra-glas but it's quite expensive, especially as I only want a tiny amount. I read most of the ordinary epoxy glues aren't that strong, I'm not sure what's the best thing to use. Any sugestions? Jay

    Browning A5 forend repair

I have a 1964 Browning A5, it's in very good condition except for a small crack in the forend. The crack is on the underside at the base of the receiver end. It's on the outside, about 1" long and does not appear to go right through to the inside. I don't want it to get any worse, but I'm...

    browning auto-5

Not sure about that Mooseye, The end of the barrel always seems to shows at the edge of the ejector port on A-5's Have a look at the photo's of A-5's on Cabelas gun library, you can see a 1/16" to 3/32" on all of them. Mines the same. I guess it could be the forends shrinking over time, but...

    Browning A-5 20ga barrels

I have a 1964 Belgian A-5 20ga with a 28" improved modified plain barrel. I'd like a vent rib barrel choked modified but finding a good Belgian one isn't going to be easy. So, what I'm wondering is; Can you fit a modern japanese made, invector choke A-5 barrel onto a Belgian receiver? Is...

    Winchester model 12 forend

Thanks for that, I had another look at it last night. Once you get the 'action slide screw cap' undone, it will slip over the pressed out 'stop' on the magazine tube, then it's easy. Should the 'action slide spring' be above the ring that's brazed onto magazine tube? (on the screw cap end...

    Winchester model 12 forend

Hope someone can help with this; How do you remove the forend & slide from the magazine tube on a model 12? The screw cap can't come off forewards & the ring on the magazine tube stops the slide coming off rearwards. I don't want to break anything so I thought I'd better ask first. Thanks...

    .308 win reloading problem

Thanks guys, I'll try taking the pin out of the die to see if it's that or the sizing that's the trouble. I'll get some different lube too. Not much choice in England, Lee or RCBS is about it, I may be able to mail order something else. And I'll have a look at the headspace. Jay.

    .308 win reloading problem

I'm using Lee case lube (inside the neck as well) it's been fine on 30-30 brass. Rifle is an almost new Ruger No.1 The primers don't move (that's half the trouble:) ) The cases are tightest in the die at the bottom of the stroke. Jay

    .308 win reloading problem

Hi, hope someone can help. I haven't been reloading that long and I started with 30-30 which hasn't caused me any problems. I've just stated reloading 308 winchester and an finding the cases require what seems like far to much force to decap/resize. I'm using lee pace setter dies and...
