What about inertia opening? Loosening the pivot pin a bit and using your wrist power to fling it open. Of course that might make it fly out of your hand if your fingers arent strong enough. :)

The blade in the knife is the same style Microtech uses on the Vector Model. That blade was designed by Joel Pirella and is in his logo. Looks like a knockoff to me too. No offense meant or anything.

So the next step is the design process of each of the blades...I think we have decided on which ones we all agree would be cool. I think everyone will like at least one of them. We all like the Barong and the Kukri idea...but the last knife I'm not so sure about. I was thinking these options...

You could also round out the choiled area at the rear of the blade edge so it will slide thru easier...and not catch clothing. jimping is easy but use a vise to hold the knife if youre gonna use a dremel or similar tool...or use a chainsaw file if you wanna take it nice and slow. I can give...

If you really wanted to go for it and make one from scratch, I'd be happy to help you, but you have to get out here, and we have to talk details. As for the kits, theyre nice if you just like making handles and such. Theyre awesome for guys who are great at handle work.

I could do a friction folder, even with a skull so the blade comes out of it mouth....its not impossible. I'll do some research on them and see what theyre like. I still Like Yo Mamas idea of the KuKri with the finger grooved handle and such. Maybe a full tang one...
