    Revolver or Modern Hi-cap Pistol?

Revolvers aren't any safer around women or children. He needs to learn how to shoot before he ever brings a firearm into his house. Then, he needs to teach everyone else how to shoot and to respect firearms. We're miles away from choosing a gun.

Why should I care about buying a better charging handle?

I've never really struggled with a standard latch, but the extended ones are nice on a scoped rifle. Pay the extra for better material. It's a relatively hard-use part. I recommend getting 2 while you're at it.

Barrel twist rate for 20" 270.

.270 was made for 130 grain bullets IMHO. I get sub-dime groups with my Classic Stainless Model 70 using Remington soft points. I'm typically not a fan of anything "Remington", but this Model 70 loves their ammo. It has a 1/10 twist. 1/9 would probably be better for 150 grain loads.

what is the craziest "deal" you have seen recently for 9mm?

Sam at SG started warning customers last year that prices were going up soon. It wasn't a marketing scheme. He was just being straight, as always. But I don't think anyone anticipated just HOW much prices would go up. Some of us had the privilege to make hay while the sun shined. I'm truly sorry...

    Armalite AR10TAC16

Hi, I finally got my Nomad silencer and shot this thing today. It functioned perfectly with cheap surplus ammo. I can't comment much on accuracy, because the scope I was using is an absolute dud. I had tried it on my M1A, and now I know it's the scope and not the rifles. As far as the gas...

    Armalite AR10TAC16

I'll let ya know how it shoots. It might be a month or two. Hopefully cslinger's experience is indicative!

    AR-10 .308 - Which brands are best?

From what I can tell, you can spend just about as much as you want to on an AR10. My friend has a GAP that he spent thousands on. It shoots very well. I can't afford that much, but I just posted a new thread of my initial impressions of the Armalite AR10 I picked up...

    Armalite AR10TAC16

I finally got around to taking some pics for you guys. There were a couple of surprises with this one...some good, some meh. The barrel is just over 16" and is chrome lined as advertised. Supposedly 4150 steel with forged 7075 upper and lower receivers. The barrel is a medium-ish profile, but it...

Why did the 7.62x51 cartridge come out of the WW2 era?

It's basically a 30-06 in a smaller, lighter, more reliable package.

    Armalite AR10 "Tac" Rifles

I went for the Armalite (which I could barely afford). I'll report back how it goes...an actual account of one of these rifles...wish me luck!

    Armalite AR10 "Tac" Rifles

Is it this one? https://pof-usa.com/firearms/revolution-di/ Looks interesting, but prolly out of my price range. I've got a line on an Armalite AR10TAC16 for $1600 out the "door". What's frustrating is I've never seen any of these (POF, Armalite, Stag) on a dealer's rack. Academy has (had)...

    Armalite AR10 "Tac" Rifles

Hi, does anyone have any experience with the latest Armalite AR10 "Tac" series rifles? Since DPMS is no more, I'm wondering how they compare in reliability and parts compatibility. I know they have different receiver specs, but Armalite finally adopted the PMAG/SR-25 standard. Who makes...

    Colt 2020 Python vs. BOA

I think it's a meld. I think the new Python 2020 design is probably stronger in the frame and lockwork department (like the Trooper/BOA). The hammer is definitely more "BOA". The barrel is Python, but I hope they've solved the cosmetic issues with the crowns. Or else go without crowns. Most...

    Colt 2020 Python vs. BOA

I have to believe that the ultimate fix has more to do with lockwork than loose screws...because screws do loosen. Either way, I think they'll get it sorted. I was just more amused that the new 2020 Python seems to bear a closer resemblance to the Lou Horton BOA of old than the classic Python.

    Colt 2020 Python vs. BOA

I did a quick search on this and didn't see anything obvious. Has anyone else noticed that the Colt 2020 Python seems to more resemble a Colt "BOA" than a traditional Python? The BOA had a slightly beefier Trooper frame and action with a Python barrel. The BOA also had a serrated (vs. checkered)...
