Reccomend me a .308 Battle Rifle

From the only Saiga .308 I've handled, it just seems like an over simplified rifle and didn't shoot very accurately. Great price, great reliability, but if you're shooting anything past 100 yards in my experience this will not yield fabulous results.

Reccomend me a .308 Battle Rifle

If you have 2k to haphazardly throw around sure a SCAR would be nice (pure speculation BTW). In terms of bang for the buck, in this case quite literally, the PTR-91 is hands down the best performer for the price, in terms of reliability, accessory availability, accuracy, and IMHO the most fun...

Reccomend me a .308 Battle Rifle

While looking for a great battle rifle, I chose the PTR-91. It is a great platform and fun to shoot! However while reviewing your criteria, the PTR-91 chews brass like no other gun I've ever seen before. Even if you still wanted to retrieve the brass, good luck finding it as my PTR-91 chucks...

    Marines choose standard-length M-16A4...

My opinion of the M16A4 is that it is better than the M16A2. Also, the A4 is more suitable for mounting optics and such on it than the M4. It seems to me to be a little bit better balanced. I lugged the M16A2 and A4 around. I have little experience with the M4, but enough to say that it...

shotgun shell death device in SAWIII movie?

I'm a firm believer that it would do some damage. I'll tell ya how I know. My friends and I when we were blowing stuff up in the desert years ago, thought of a device like this, just not intended to kill someone. What we would do is cut a hole in a mouse trap, big enough for the body of the...

Oleg took a pix of my gun.

There is something fishy about the whole thing. The forward assist looks bent. 2nd that one. Everything else people have mentioned.

    German K98 or YUGO M-48

I agree with wild. Kar98k has a better action than my Yugo M48. My Yugo can also outshoot the K98K anyday. You want a shooter, go Yugo M48/A. You want a safe queen, the K98K is my favorite. Well...true. However if you can get a good price on Mitchell Mausers, buy it! They are good...

    THE Alaskan bear defense rifle

Yes definitely the 12g slugs are plenty of stopping power for Alaskan Bear. I'd choose this. It's important however that if you go this route you buy a rear sight and a slug barrel. Your 12g slugs' effectiveness will be much better that way.

    Blackwater uses AR15/M16 in Iraq.

Marine Corps FAST platoons are comparable to that of Blackwater. My friend has trained a few times with them, and they all love the AR, including himself.

You have to admit...that's some nice wood he's got there. No? :)

    Yugoslavian M24/47

SoCal... 8mm is a joy to buy. Century Arms has $1.20 / 15rd boxes of bright and shiny Yugoslavian ammo from 1953. One case, which is 900 rds, was $85 including shipping. Came in a metal crate, with can opening steel string on the crate itself. Not only cheap, but GREAT stuff to shoot...

Does anyone have a picture or a link with more information on this particular EAA rifle? I've been looking but coming up with nothing.

    Cali-legal semi-auto?

FN-49 anyone? I hear they are ridiculously fun. Yeah the SU is great. I wish I bought the CA model though. :banghead:

    WW1 'Gast' German Gun

:what: 7.92x94! I wonder what that would be like in a rifle  I have to find some balistics on that cartridge. Edit: I just found a picture of the standard 8mm cartridge with the 7.92x94 along with other calibers. http://www.quarry.nildram.co.uk/ATR1.jpg

    WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

It took me a long long time. I was getting frustrated until the laughter broke the tension. Good times!
