Many years ago I wandered into their NYC store and actually bought a shirt that was on sale. it was extremely well made. That may have been about the time - long long ago - that I had a Christmas job at another high end store nearby, Lord & Taylor. I liked that job!

The only way I was able to get anyone on the phone at S&W was through the operator, not "customer service". They don't answer that number at all, at least they didn't when I was calling them. I didn't try email.

Naturally. Murphy's Law, like when something is haywire with your car but when you show it to the mechanic it's not doing it. I wait on the S&W customer service line 15 minutes, 17 minutes, until i finally hang up and dial the operator. This guy gets through right away. :cuss:

My knife buffing compound should do then (link below). How easy would it be to overdo it and mess up the cylinders?

I have buffing compound (for sharpening knives). Will that be good?

Did customer service answer the phone when you called - or did you have to use my dial operator trick to get through?

If you carry a gun every day of your life you figure the one time you don't that's when you'll need it...and that's the way it works too...and it's happened to me too...part of Murphy's Law i think!

I really like that one, but can i totally trust it? I worry about small semi-automatics as a defensive weapon, so more often than not I'll take the S&W .38 instead. It's about the same size. How reliable has yours been?
