Oops, left this thread alone too long. I'll try and cover any questions previously presented. If I miss yours, just remind me. :)
I did trim this batch of brass before feeding to the progressive press. I trimed them to .002" under the "trim-to" length expecting about that much growth...
I am loading some 223 remington today. Things are going well with the Hornady L-n-L AP except the rounds coming out are a bit harder to close the bolt on. The case head is being pressed a bit as evidenced by the new shinney patches on the case head. I have marked all around the neck, shoulder...
While I completely agree that gun mag reviews can be and mostly are influenced by ad dollars, when they all seem to agree it's prolly not just a fluke of advertising money corruption. I still take things I read with a grain of salt. :D
The praise hasn't come mearly from gun rags though...
From what I hear the WSM and prolly WSSM lines are catching on quite alrigt. They are being praised in most gun rags and on forums enough that I think lots of people either have one or want one. I could be wrong, but one this is for sure they are catching on better than the Remington SA Mags...

Couldn't find a decent pic of my actual 10/22. Looks much like the pic you posted though. :)
I have a "Dragunov" style stock on my 10/22. It looks kinda AWish and is rather comfy to shoot IMHO. DPMS makes an AR styled rifle in 22lr it also looks pretty sweet. :D

My favorite is Point Blank. It's completely free and makes a nice addition to any reloader's collection. Has bullet tables with all sorts of info. Stores your loads in a database along with any group size info you enter. Very slick and has a bunch of other calculators built in as well...
artherd - I wouldn't say my magazine rattles. It can be wiggled side to side and back and forth a bit with a firm hand, but it doesn't rattle on it's own from what I've noticed.
I hear ya completely on the 70 bucks a box of 20 price on factory ammo. (Black Hills I assume... Lapua...
