That could be said of guns in general. The vast majority of gun owners never end up using their guns for self defense. The extra background check is acceptable but it would be so horribly back-logged if people could buy new FA firearms so it would need reworking as well.

I remember the P-07 was on sale for just under $400 for a while there. I had one, it was a good pistol, but just didn't work good for me. My friend was much better with it than I was.

You can get a decent AR for far less than 1200. You can build your own PSA for between $500 and $600 or even get a Colt 6920 (overrated IMO, but some say the best) for $750-$800 on sale. In AK's you can get a WASR for ~$600. They used to be considered junk but they have increased in quality...

Right now one of the big draws of the platform is the price. Right now they are so low there isn't a good reason not to build a few.

PSA just released their AK so that may be worth waiting for, but you should wait until they get some reviews on them.

The only negative I see about the P-09 is that it won't take cz75 mags only p09 mags and they are pricey, $40-$50.

Sounds like they are trying to bank on their name. It sounds like the mentality is that dealers can't afford NOT to have Colt firearms so Colt can set the terms. The truth as has been previously mentioned is that there are a lot of AR and 1911 makers out there now.
