A good read on the subject is Shots Fired in Anger by John George (if you can find a copy, it is now out of print). He was himself a high power competitor before the war (won the 1939 (?) Illinois State Championship). When his unit shipped out in 1942 he made his own sniper rifle from a star...
Regarding nitride, there are two common ueses (mis-uses?) of the term. One refers to the nitride coating (like titanium nitride or boron nitride) that adds a very hard coat. This also changes the dimensions slightly.
The other "nitride" is nitrocarburizing. This is not a coating, but is a...
So, if it really illegal to carry concealed without a permit on private property, even with the owner's permission, then is every IDPA match in the country illegal?

I have been using Wilson 47-T's for years for USPSA. I have had two issues with them. On one, the tab on the front (stops over insertion) broke off. I sent it back to Wilson and they replaced the mag, no problem.
The other issue is the followers. When the mags were new, they worked fine...
Check out the website for the California Department of Justice. There is a list of approved pistols which can be sorted by make, caliber, etc. It is model number specific, so be careful when you buy.

There was an article in the American Rifleman (1968 - 1972 timeframe, I think, had several photos). It covered a major fire at a large sporting goods store. The fire department determined that the greatest danger in the fire came from SCUBA tanks. When they exploded, they were very dangerous...
I haven't been able to measure a consistent difference in practice. In matches I plan my turn based on how I intend to engage targets.
I suggest doing some dry-fire drills (and live-fire if you can) in both directions. Do it periodically and see if there is enough difference to really matter.
There is a range in Big Bear. It's off of Hwy 38/18 between Big Bear Lake and Baldwin Lake.
There are several designated shooting areas in the National Forest. Contact the ranger station for locations and restrictions (they are closed when the fire hazard gets too high.
What they are trying to do is require a form of micro-printing on all firearms parts that would include the make, model number, and serial number. In addition, one or more of the micro-printed areas would be situated to leave it's imprint on the fired cases (I presume the breachface?).
That...
