if it is your weak hand that is slipping it may be because you do not have a good grip on the gun. Try to make sure the heel of your weak hand contacts the grip of the pistol (it should fit just behind the tips of your fingers of your strong hand and before the heel of your strong hand. wrap the...
I was never aware my 19 was broke. personally i always liked the K frames better than the Ls, but it isn't like there is much choice now. I would like to see a 3" though.
Try applying some grip tape (you can get it a lowes, home depot, etc) feels like sand paper, is usually black and provides a good grip surface. (skateboard tape is basically the same stuff and works just as well)
A good kydex holster (like a blade-tech or comptac) will serve in both sports. A straight drop is probably faster (in IDPA you cannot have the muzzle canted forward, but you can have it canted back). A good one (which has tension adjustments and is made of sturdier kydex, will probably run 50-75...
Depends on which STI you are talking about. A custom STI would be at least equal to those you mentioned. But which model? An Eagle? nothing really to compare there. Lawman? probably about the same. Edge? I have two STIs (a VIP and an LS) both are excellent guns. The VIP is one of my favorite...

Good job.
I don't want to tell you how long it took me to make it through a match without a proceedural.
first i was reloading when i needed to, or reloading on the move or not staying behind cover, shooting in the wrong order ... it was quite an adjustment.
i think the hardest thing for me...
50 rounds is a little on the low end around here (probably because most poeple i know wouldn't get out of the house for 50 rounds)
I would say at the different clubs in this area we probably average about 75-90 rounds. Most places run 4-5 stages.
One of the things I think would bring more...
I carry mine all the time. I have two in fact, one a basic blued Mk III Browning and another worked over by EGW. Usually carry Bladetech IWB, sometimes in a Galco NSA. I don't have a problem with C&L (in fact that is my prefered mode of carry) The gun isn't going off unless I pull the trigger. I...
