    PTR-91 Questions

The same fixed pressure pads that are on the German STANAG mount are on the UTG mount. The mount itself is rock solid; I failed to mention that I picked it up by the mount itself and shook it.

    PTR-91 Questions

Well an update: the UTG mount locks up like a VAULT! That's not hyperbole, but we'll see how she shoot. Thusfar, I am VERY pleased; to put it in perspective, I've picked up my rifle and shook it a bunch of times since I installed it and had zero movement. Well worth the $60 I paid for it and...

451, yours looks exactly like mine will. Do you both use the UTG Claw mount? I know about getting the cheek piece, that's already budgeted! :D

    PTR-91 Questions

It's been a long time since I've been by here; college, 2 kids, wife, and life are always calling...hope everyone is doing well. I received one of these for Christmas and after a new bolt head (I apparently got a dud even though my serial #AW74xx wasn't in the recall), and after free...

    Proper M4 shooting form

Rifleman173 the Grunt on the right is "short-stocking." He's not leading with his weapon. Basics of shooting from cover, room clearing, etc. We as Marines were taught to keep the rifle high in the pocket of the shoulder, and yes armor is a big issue. Shooting without gear as opposed to with it...

    An Apology and Reintroduction...

The rifle fired wonderfully! 1" or less (possible .800-.900) at 100 yds. I'm so happy with it I could squeal unmanly and girlish, but I won't :D. The barrel's already floated (a big +) and I couldn't be happier. A bipod and a tactical scope and I'll be happier than a pig in mud with a hat on...

    buying an ak...

Well, what are you wanting? Be forewarned, accuracy on an AK can vary from 1-7 MOA. The 74 is chambered in 5.45 as opposed to the 7.62. The honest to God Russian made, are way more expensive and hard to come by to the best of my knowledge. There's a lot of AK fellas on here way better versed in...

    An Apology and Reintroduction...

I'd like to start by saying that I apologize. Most likely a year or more ago I made a comment to another member; I said that if you couldn't make MOA on any rifle you had no business shooting. I've fired a lot of rifles in my short time on this earth and believed that to be shooter error. In...

    Crazy ATF visit.

I apologize for my previous statement. I preceived Zunfolge's post as an attack and reacted strongly. My reaction in no way was meant to reflect negatively on the Corps or any member thereof. I was wrong in reacting the way I did and I hope this apology means something, especially to you...

    Crazy ATF visit.

Having been in the Marine Corps and working closely with local LEO's since my leaving the Marine Corps, I'll add this... Being in civilian security I've been accused of being 'mean.' I had just gotten out of the Marine Corps (still have a hard time with that) and didn't know that I always had...

    In Today's Paper . . .

That guy is on CRACK! :barf: But what's really sad is that someone will see that anti-tank part and jump on it...

    Would like a shotgun...

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think I will go with the 590. I've seen a lot of customizations on them as well as the 870.

    Would like a shotgun...

...however I'm having a hard time deciding. My requirements are inexpensive say under 400USD, reliable, LIGHT, and easily customized. While in the Marine Corps I used a Mossberg 590 and liked it, but I was wanting to know if there's anything comparable that might be better or cheaper. Home...

can anyone actually hit squat with their Mosins?

You know that's funny...I seem to recall my friends being on the USMC Rifle Team and using M1 Garands at their matches... You sir, might want to get your facts straight. As far as the bottle caps goes, I have to agree with AH-1, BULL. A match grade Armalite MAYBE, but the Colt walking sticks...

can anyone actually hit squat with their Mosins?

I don't claim to be an expert and I never will but I'll tell you my experiences. My MN 91/30 (Russian mind you and very rough looking) shoots awesome groups. I've only shot at 25 yds thusfar, but with an NCStar scope and a POS mount (loose A LOT) I keyholed all 5 rounds fired. At 100 yds I don't...
