When they find 3 empty brass cases at work and they block off the "danger" until you are back at work and can dispose of them safely. When you buy camera bags to see if they fit take-down 22's. :D When your friends move and they give you back the gun you loaned them years ago and forgot about.

Canon or Cannon

I bought my brother a .375 H&H Mauser several years ago and that is high on my list. I bought myself a Weatherby Mk V in .257 Weatherby and am really looking forward to getting all set up and shooting this summer.

Monarch's have internal focus system and the Action's are external. Drop them both and you wil see why the Monarch's are the better deal. Long term the Action's tend to get out of allignment more then Monarch's. True Nikon will repair both for the first 20 years you own them for only $10 but why...

1911 style .45's. This was what I first shot for handguns and it just stuck. Many other handguns later I enjoy shooting most of them but my money keeps going back to 1911's.

I voted 22 Mag. I have shot 22 LR and Mag side by side many times to compare, and really believe the difference.....different! The ammo cost is a hard one to defend for plinking, but for carry I would get the .22 Mag.

I voted .270 with 140 grain pills it shoots flat and anchors everything I've shot. One best cailber? Has to be a a long action standard caliber. ( And I may have been influenced by things I read growing up!) :evil:

+1 for Nikon, if you want to buy new. However if you are willing to buy used look for 20-30 year old Bushnell Discovery. Straight tube, with a 15-45 power eyepiece, sharp glass from center to edge, downside not much eye relief if you wear glass's. Should be around $75 to $125. Good luck.
