Regardless, I still wouldn't buy one right now, I think it's less likely to get banned because it doesn't have scary features. Well, aside from being semi-automatic… and I doubt they'll ban all semi-autos. Canada will, but the US won't for a long time.
When RatDrall? If it was in the last month it's a stupendous deal!
The mad rush on “Assault rifles” it's pretty hard to find anything for bellow MSRP.
$670 is considerably lower than the very lowest model's current MSRP of $872.00.
But it depends how many a dealer bought and how long ago.
You can find used Mini-14s for $650 for sure, but it's a "young man's gun" which means it's a bit like buying a used Mustang… If you want to go used, you can still find various M1As and Norinco M-14S/M305 rifles for around $800, however the pre-import-ban Chinese rifles are sketchy and I...
These two guns really aren't even close to each other, it's not Apples to Oranges it's Apples to Eggplants.
Never mind the fact that the SOCOM is currently selling for more than twice the price ($2,100 vs $900), they fill completely different roles with different rounds.
What do you plan to...
I don't see a clear advantage to this idea… Why spend all that time and money developing (or presumably having someone else develop) a gas operated semi-auto to fire ~300 grain bullets such that they would generate 3,800J of energy. It's been done.
If you want a soup can throwing semi-auto...
I ended up getting an H&R Pardner in 12 gauge and cutting the barrel down to 20" It's got quite a spray but I'll be just fine for the sub 30' grouse hunting and defense. It weighs just 5.2lbs. I'm thinking I might pick up a synthetic pistol grip stock and a 20 gauge barrel for it.
People were shooting at stuff 500 yards away long before today's fancy optics. Only they accepted they might miss!
Sure now we expect to be able to sight in a scope for 500 yards and land rounds on target with reasonable accuracy. Heck some people even hunt out at 500 yards (I don't think it's...
BLARG! And the next big trip to the US is to Hawaii and it's in Feb so I won't even be able to stock up then and send them back! (via an exporting FFL of course) of course by then Obama could be in office or McCain that leftist RiNO even so prices will go up because people will be stocking up...
We aren't lucky enough to have Dick's Sporting Goods stores up here :(
I can take the light weight single shot, hell I'm considering the 10ga so I can load some 1.5oz rounds. I'm built like a brick shh... something ;)
The used market up here sucks because of the paperwork involved in transferring guns.
Heck it sucks buying new guns! In city with a population of a million (well some suburbs in there too) we only have a handful of gun shops, I think there are actually about 6 but I'd only say 3 or 4 are "real"...
I'm looking for a cheap shotgun to blast some paper with, maybe take birding and to keep around the house. However I'm broke. I also really like single shot break action auto ejectors so I've got some options.
Obviously for $200 I'm not getting anything nice, or even reliable probably a New...
