Shot an M1 Garand for the first time today.

You can get genuine USGI M2 Ball ammo from the CMP (TheCMP.org). Federal, in the American Eagle brand, PPU {PRVI Partizan} along with Sellier & Bellot makes ammo specifically loaded for the M1 Garand, so marked on the boxes. The US Rifle Cal .30 M1 is a real Battle Rifle. Also look at...

    Hi point carbines?

I have a recent manufacture 995. Mine does not like some 115-gr hollow point ammo, but will shoot all types of ball ammo until your shoulder falls off. Accurate and dependable, even with the 20-round red ball mags. A LOT of fun to shoot in a neat compact package

    Universal M1 Carbine

NightLord: Thanks for your help. I have placed my order for the slide. It looks much more solid with the line weld instead of 2 spot welds. Listed at $110. Yours in Life and Liberty Foghornl aka Clarke

    Universal M1 Carbine

Took the action out of the stock. It is a dual-spring setup. The op-rod to gas cylinder welds are broken. Wasn't using any insane ammo, PPU (Prvi Partizan) .30 Carbine 110-gr FMJ

    Universal M1 Carbine

I have a Universal Carbine (I know, not a real WWII USGI Carbine) with an unusual failure. After firing 3 rounds, the bolt will not close, hangs up solidly about 3/4" short of battery. This is with or without ammo and magazine installed. Also, there does not seem to be any spring tension on...

    Curio Carry (Warning, large pics)

Many years back, I carried a reproduction of the "1858 Army Remington"... You read that right....a 7-1/2" barrel muzzle-loader. Only had to present it twice... I can't begin to describe how big the miscreant's eyes grew when I drew that thing......

    Ruger expanding to N.C.

Good for Ruger ! ! ! Would love to see some firearms makers move to Ohio, particularly here in the North East Ohio "rust belt". A LOT of empty factory space, and talented machinists, press operators, CNC machine operators, etc.

WI:Racine Gun Turn In: 10% of guns at "buy back" were Purchased for the Event

I did that several years ago... Bought the Daisy "Red Ryders" for $20, turned them in for $25. Made enough to buy a box of .357 Ammo before the promoters caught on.

    Very Specific Criteria

Ruger SP-101 not the most compact .357, but a very serviceable weapon that meets your list. I have carried my 'Sheriff's Model' .357 Vaquero, but small it aint, even with the 3-3/4" barrel. 2003 Vintage, built on the larger .44/45 frame.

    Who carries a pocket pistol?

I don't own a pocket pistol or pocket revolver, because I am no good with the "Rodent Weapons". Bad guy, if more that 3 feet away, would have a better chance of getting hit if I filled said weapon with concrete and threw it at him. I have problems with very small guns because of my Ham...
