I see you've already got it out, but here's a tip nobody mentioned. Since it's a muzzleloader, just drop a lit match down the bore. The temp isn't nearly as high as gunpowder when fired, so no damage to the bore. The rag burns and falls out charred. No big deal, no scratches in your barrel...

A few weeks ago I traded for this Dragoon.
I had the opportunity to take it out and test it this weekend, including introducing several people to both it and shooting in general.
I was using .454 round balls through it and they were easy to load without a stand and gave just enough...
Yeah, I was frustrated, sure. Understandably so. I recant my statement about the author of that post. If it works for him, fine, but it didn't for me. I'll just have to play around with this Uberti 3rd Model Dragoon and figure out what it likes. Thanks to all who replied.
