Glock will only sell those parts to individuals who complete their Certified Armorer training. Probably has something to do with lawyers and liabilities.

My local ABC affiliate recently televised a segment on the "dangers" of 80% receivers. I bet you will read a similar story in the NY Times in the near future.
It took Ruger long enough to make a 7-shot GP100. Smith & Wesson released the 686+ in 1996.
I just checked the GP100 product page. It shows 7-shot models with 2.5", 4.2", and 6" barrels in stainless steel.
P.S. Ruger also released new 8-shot .357 Redhawks with 4.2" and 5.5" barrels.
