I shoot CAS competitively and use BP for some of the larger matches that I shoot. I found a lot of good information on this website.

I have one of those inexpensive timers with an OFF and an ON plug in "thingy." I remove the ON "thingy" so that when my timer reaches its OFF time it can not turn back ON again since the ON plug is not present.
I shoot CAS and use .38sp in my pistols and my lever action rifle. Split case is not a problem in a pistol but its a real problem with tube fed rifles. Sometimes when you get a split the bullet will push back into the case and when you try and lever that bullet into your chamber it won't...
Something else I've noticed about this brass too....the rim is a little thicker or it seems so. It is harder to put in the shell holder. I looked at them closely under a magnifying glass and I found some little raised edges which might be causing them to either not go into the shell holder or...
What would make this particular headstamp brass larger in diameter near the rim than other brass so that it will not go all the way down into the case checker?
I see you are in GA....I live close to Athens.
I checked and they are indeed 7.62 x 39....the writing on the case is not the regular alphabet....may be Russian or some other alphabet.
Thanks for sharing the link to your previous thread concerning this.....I did get a few ideas from it. My...
I am trying to resize some 7.62 x 39 brass and I am having trouble with a particular head stamp. I am using a Lee depriming/resizing die that came with the 3 die set. The case goes all the way into the die but when I check it with a case gauge it does not go all the way in....stops just a little...
I do not have Berdan primers and don't want to buy any. I want to Boxer prime my ammo. I've never ran across any special Berdan decapping die...just wonder what people are using.
I've been getting together some brass to load and shoot in my Mini30 and have ran across a good number of Berdan primed brass...mixed headstamps. I have broken 2 decapping pins in my Lee universal decapping die. I bought that die special to work on this brass...Lee website says decapping pins...
I know that Varget is not the preferred powder for 7.62x39 but its what I have a lot of.....with powder so hard to find I'd like to try and use what I have on hand.
I finally ran across a few hundred pieces of some brass and have swaged out the primer pockets and am ready to load them with...
One more here with a negative review of Amerc. I've got about 3000 pieces of 45 acp brass and finally good through all of them pulling out all of the Amerc. I have a couple hundred pieces of Amerc....keep it separated out and now its sitting in the scrap brass. bucket.
I shot CAS and have shot thousands of MBC bullets....all in a .38sp....Ruger Vaquero. I use Clays powder and use a midrange load....3.0 grains. I haven't had a leading problem with their bullets. I've also loaded and shot several thousand 230gr MBC bullets out of a 1911...again without the...
I shoot CAS competition and load thousands of cast 105 TC bullets. I wouldn't see any reason to load an even lighter bullet....especially if you are shooting it out of a rifle.
