Ruger 10/22 six digit serial number

I don't remember the one I saw as having those features, but wasn't looking for them either. I do remember the stock being a somewhat darker color than mine, and that my friend said it was walnut.

Ruger 10/22 six digit serial number

Thank you! I checked the link you provided and it appears to have been made in either 1968 or 1969. The 10/22 first started production in 1964, so this really is an early model. If it's in really good condition (and it is), do you think it would be worth more as a collector piece, or should...

    Walther P99 Vs. S&W99

A friend has just gotten himself a Walther P99 with night sites. I was under the impression that Smith & Wesson now makes this gun, but used to be made by Walther, for a high price tag. Is this gun worth much more, being a Walther?

Ruger 10/22 six digit serial number

A friend of mine has recently acquired a Ruger 10/22 from his uncle and indicated that it is an early model because of its Walnut stock and a 6 digit serial number. How old would this gun be with a serial number like this?

SW99 or XD9. Which to buy?

Well folks, the decision has been made. I chose the XD9. I put down the money yesterday and now I have to suffer through the waiting period. I'll be able to pick up either tomorrow (just before they close), or I may have to wait until Friday. This is also my very first gun ever bought from a...

SW99 or XD9. Which to buy?

.....and I probably will end up with the XD. I've been kind of dreaming of having one for quite awhile. It would be hard for me to change my mind at the last second, both about the model of gun AND the caliber. Thanks for your opinion. I just don't want to be making this decision alone!:)

SW99 or XD9. Which to buy?

My local shop is selling a used Springfield XD9 with an updated guiderod and spring with 3 magazines. It is the black 4" version. He's also selling a used .40 cal. S&W99 with 4 magazines. I originally wanted the XD9 and prefer the 9mm cal, but the dealer advised I get the SW99 saying...

The Great Debate: The Mentally Ill and Guns

I'm glad this subject was brought up! I was diagnosed as mentally ill when I was 15. Still am, I guess. I've owned guns all my adult life now and never had a problem. However, I buy all my guns privately because I'm not sure if I can legally buy from a dealer. Never tried yet, and I'm...

    Mental health records in WI

In Wisconsin where I live, the state assembly passed a bill that provides information on people who are mentally ill in order to keep them from buying a gun because the mental health information would be available when doing the background check. But here's a question: As far as those...

    Ammo price increase=lower gun values?

Too bad I don't have reloading equipment. I've never done it before. But I'm not much of a shooter anyway. I like to have guns for defense at home and out-and-about. Also in case of major social breakdowns. However, it would be nice to know that when I want to buy ammo in the future, it...

    Ammo price increase=lower gun values?

I've been seriously considering the purchase of a 9mm. I currently have a .38, a .380, a .22 rifle and a 12ga. I thought a 9mm auto, like an XD9 would be alot of fun. However, seeing that the price of ammo just keeps going up and up and up, I'm thinking of forgetting about it altogether and...

Would I have been ripped off?

Someone in a local paper is advertising a S&W Sigma 9mm for $375. I've seen these in the store brand new for $300. I called him up and made an offer for $300 because that's what they sell for new. This guy of course said that I'd be saving because there would be no tax or background check...

    Favorite Shotgun

Personally, I just like the plain old Mossberg 500 series. Very basic, yet very functional and affordable. Just what a gun ought to be, IMHO.

    More gun show BS

I think I've just been to my last gun show in a long time. I was told all kinds of BS, such as the price of ammo has doubled, and that MY guns are too "common" to fetch a decent price. And to think I had to pay admission to put up with that!
