I just picked this up today on a local deal. The picture does not do this pistol justice. It is perfect in every way. It does not look like it was fired since it left the factory. The serial number puts its birth date in 1976. I paid $500.00 for it which I think is a fair price.
This is by far the most accurate 1911 I have ever owned. Colt seems to be upping their game in that area. In about 600 rounds I have only had one malfunction and that was a double feed. I think it was magazine related. They still have a way to go when it comes to fit and finish in my opinion but...
I have a 1979 vintage 29-2 with a 8 3/8" barrel that I am trying to place a value on. It is in mint unfired condition with the box, papers and tools. Thanks in advance.
These are average 100 yard bench rested groups I get using a Aimpoint 2moa Comp M3 with green tip 62 gr milsurp ammo out of a 14.5" barrel. You can do better.
