Interesting map. I guess it just concerns itself with licensing. A bit deceitful though cause at least New Mexico and Arizona have always had unrestricted open carry. The map makes it seem like there was no option to carry at least in those two states. There may well be others.
Just catching up here...
...my email to Uber...
Hello,
Due to the terms of your new policy (https://www.uber.com/legal/firearms-prohibition-policy) regarding the legal carrying of firearms, I would to request that you immediately and permanently delete my account. I will also be...
Yeah, really nothing mentioned anywhere about security. Just says that I am allowed to carry my weapon concealed. His thoughts on what I may or may not do if an incident may arise might vary wildly. I'll not bring it up as he has not. As far as I'm concerned, when he said, "head of...
Update:
I took the advice (thank you all kindly) and went to my boss (owner of the company as well). I calmly explained that if that policy was not removed or at the very least greatly changed, I would not be able to carry and would not want to remain in his employ. Based on a recommendation...
GC §411.203. RIGHTS OF EMPLOYERS. This subchapter does not prevent or otherwise limit the right of a public or private employer to prohibit persons who are licensed under this subchapter from carrying a concealed handgun on the premises of the business. In this section, “premises” has the...
Secondary worry is that, per Texas law, the termination would not be worst of it. It is illegal to carry if the employer has notified you in any way to not carry.
Hi all,
So I've been working here for two years. The boss knows that I carry at work (valid CHL, etc.). Never has been an issue. Recently, they changed HR companies and I just found out that there has been a new employee handbook out there since the beginning of the year. The pertinent part...
I'm pretty sure they can since they do so for the gun shows (yeah, I know. Ironic) in Fort Worth and Dallas and those are on city\county properties all the time. I asked this of a person at Will Rogers one time and was told that it falls more under the Texas laws regarding renting a place and...
Interestingly enough, I went to the State Fair there a few years back and they had a process where you would show your CHL at the gate and they would walk you around the metal detectors (yeah, that safe). Anyway, the drawback was that you then had to wait (close to an hour in my case) for a...
Yep and you usually have to park a hell of a long way from the gate which also means walking back after. And then there's the possibility of the vehicle getting broken into and gun stolen.
But more to the point, why should I bother at all? I should just sell all my guns then I don't have...
We were going to go out to Taste of Dallas this weekend at Fair Park but then ran across the "no weapons" bit here:

My buddy sent them an email asking if this applied to CHL holders:

Is there any truth to this as far as anyone knows? Says they are trying to sneak the high-cap magazine ban into an FAA bill today.
