    How many rounds?

Don't worry, happens to the best of us. Well, maybe not the best, but it's happened to me.

Assembled My First Upper: Mistakes and Lessons Learned

I really like the Primary Arms micro prisms, they're not just "good for the money" they're just good. An ACOG is objectively better in a few ways, but the PA micros have a few tricks up their sleeves, like an adjustable eye piece, incredibly lightweight and a very adaptable mounting system.

What new rifles are most exciting to you this year? Or over the past year?

Nicer stock, and 3 position safety are the biggest two functional differences, but the gen 2 gets a fluted barrel as well, which is mostly cosmetic. I could live without the fluted barrel and a lower cost, but the other touches are very intriguing. I could see picking one in 6creed up as a...

    Complete AR15 with 1:8 twist?

I'm not debating you, but I just find it funny your picking out a "match" type SS barrel, to shoot cheap bulk ammo. In my experience, I've never had issues with 55gr in 1:7 that wasn't the ammo's fault (i.e. wouldn't shoot in other rifles with slower twists). Either way, you'll be happy with...

    Complete AR15 with 1:8 twist?

The 1:8's are definitely less prevalent in their line up, but I'd been under the impression they've usually had one or two offerings among all the 1:7's. Those SS410 barrels are under appreciated I think. I've steered a few people towards them and they've always been very happy with them. Most...

    Complete AR15 with 1:8 twist?

They sell complete rifles as well. https://bravocompanymfg.com/bcm-recce16-kmra-p.html Or, he can buy a complete lower, BCG and charging handle separately. That's not exactly "building" that's just un-field stripping at that point. No assembly required.

ID this optic - looks odd or backward to me

Yeah, the rail isn't fully seated in the delta ring.

Rifle optics: a blue collar spending perspective for cost / benefit

The best way I've ever found to get a good, cheap scope is to buy a used rifle, with a nice scope, and either plop a lesser scope, or none at all and resell the rifle. I've ended up with a few "free" scopes that way.

    6 ARC Rifle options

I'm in the "build it" camp. I'm not opposed to buying a pre-built, but I enjoy picking all the details and doing the assembly work. I get it's not for everyone. I'm really liking the 6arc on paper, and have been hearing alot of very promising feedback about it.

Anti-cant level for AR15 with Carrying Handle

You could always slap a picitiany rail on top, and secure the bubble level to that.

    Weaver/Picatinny rail riser for AR-15

I run a Weaver extended riser on one of my rifles. It seems to work fine. I run the "Permanent" mount as I like how it's more flush with the reciever, but it's also available with thumb nuts if you're so inclined. One of these: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1477164762

Rifle optics: a blue collar spending perspective for cost / benefit

I find there's alot of very serviceable scopes starting around the $200 mark. You can either have decent features, with OK execution and mediocre glass, or decent glass, with no features. There's uses for both types of scope. But you don't start getting decently well rounded scopes until you...

Revisiting The Old Model 700 in .270

A $400 barrel, is a $400 barrel. A $400 axis is a $200 action, $100 barrel, and $100 of various other bits. I'd rather have a good action, with a custom barrel exactly how I'd like it, than a run of the mill budget gun.

    Build a AR?

Sounds like they got the gas port size correct then. In theory, that should be a real soft shooting rifle.
