    Rifle pricing help - Miroku/Browning 1886 SRC .45-70

Thanks for the google-fu bfoosh006! No worries charlie98. That would have been super embarrassing if I would have been shooting with the sights not flipped up. I'm going to try to get this puppy on a lead-sled and see what's what.

I could be mistaken but this isn't a ladder sight is it?

Llama Bob - Thanks again! bfoosh006 - I appreciate you saying that! Hmm... mine has buckhorn sights. Did you add the ladder sights yourself? Thanks for the tip on the tool chest liners too. I'll check them out!

    Rifle pricing help - Miroku/Browning 1886 SRC .45-70

Charlie98 - I appreciate you asking! The main issue is that I have a hard time getting on paper unless I'm 25 yards or closer. The recoil is most manageable when I shoot standing (which of course hurts my accuracy even more.) When seated, I can't rock back with the recoil as I need to and while...

    Rifle pricing help - Miroku/Browning 1886 SRC .45-70

Thanks Llama Bob and Charlie98! I know I'm going to hate selling this one. But I can't shoot it worth a darn. I love the engineering and mechanics of it. Not to mention the history. But I think it's just too much gun for me.

Ah, my apologies. I've seen book values from $900 - $1250 for a brand new specimen. I'll grab a few pictures and upload them.

    Rifle pricing help - Miroku/Browning 1886 SRC .45-70

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've been on the forum, grad school being what it is. I'm mostly posting now because I've decided to sell my browning 1886 saddle ring carbine which I believe was made by Miroku in the 1980's. The gun has a round (as opposed to octagonal) barrel. I'd say...

Black/blued barrel and hammer for colt series 70 1911?

Froghurr: Ha. So you're saying Brownell's probably isn't going to have one in stock? XD JTQ. Thanks! I'll definitely be looking into different finishes as an option.

Black/blued barrel and hammer for colt series 70 1911?

JTQ. Thanks again. That's definitely something to think about Froghurr: Do they make such a barrel?

Black/blued barrel and hammer for colt series 70 1911?

Ah I see, that's where they've recoated the whole gun right?

Black/blued barrel and hammer for colt series 70 1911?

JTQ mentioned that a blued barrel would wear fairly quickly and mentioned other more resilient finishes. I assume these would be vastly different color wise, cerokote, matte black etc...

Black/blued barrel and hammer for colt series 70 1911?

Would the new dark barrel match the exterior bluing of the gun if I got it in another finish? (Froghurr and JTQ)

Black/blued barrel and hammer for colt series 70 1911?

Thanks JTQ. That's very helpful!I like the look of the barrel at 30k rounds than the shiny new stock one. haha.
