    Ruger Old Army

The stuck screw. I put a tiny dab of anti-sieze on all the threads whan I re-assemble my BP revolvers. That includes the threads of the nipples. Don't you just love a sport where you can say "nipples":D. I can't get you screw out for you but if you use the anti-sieze in the future they will...

    Ruger Old Army

Took my ROA to the range for the first time today. Very impressed! I've been shooting .44 Colt Army and Remington .44 copies for years. The Colt copies seem to shoot many more shots before cleaning........but the ROA seems like it could go on forever. I shot 4 cylinders full and it didn't...

    USFA 1858 Remington

Makes my new Uberti I bought of Gunbroker w/Holster,belt,cartridge box, buckle and 2 new Lee moulds in box for $265........look really inexpensive. That has to be a wrong price?................Mike P.S. I could get 5 Uberti and pay shipping/insurance for that price

    Colt pocket cal.31 at 25metres

Great shooting! Now you make me want another caliber(sigh). I would think you very well armed with that .31 in your pocket. Thank you for posting the picture..........Mike P.S. did you use FFF or FFFF BP? What is PNF2?

Pocket vs full frame picture request

Mens overcoat pockets were once very deep and large. If it was too small to fit a holster it was just put in the pocket and hence the name. I'll bet more were stuffed in the belt if they had a barrel of more than 6". That Uberti above is a real nice Pocket Police and I prefer the 1860 type...

ROA, 3F and Round Ball loads?

I shoot and reload for cartridge guns also but BP Revolvers hold that special mystique for me. Cartridge guns are a tool and BP guns add to the FUN factor. Well see how the Ruger stacks up against the copies........Mike P.S. I always take a container of hot water to the range with plenty of...

ROA, 3F and Round Ball loads?

Thanks fellas. That's what I was looking for. I have a Colt copy that shoots all day with 30gr.FFF Goex and a Remington that will not go 2 cylinders with the same 30gr.FFF. I've heard the Ruger can go further without a cleanup than the Remington copy. I shoot 3F Goex exclusively since I buy...

OOps sorry my friend who lives in Midland, MI said that BP revolvers were controlled and had to be delivered through a dealer. Sorry if my post created a problem. I'll edit it..........Mike

ROA, 3F and Round Ball loads?

For you folks that shoot the ROA with FFF black powder & round ball, some questions; What load of powder has been the most accurate for you? Which worked best, over powder wad or grease over ball? How many cylinders can you fire between cleanings at the range? Getting ready to do some range...

anyone tried making fulminate of mercury for caps?

You can get a lic. through the ATF to manufacture explosives and then you would be legal, However the $300 fee is too expensive , IMO. The paperwork and application w/fingerprints could be filled out and mailed in one afternoon. Just questioning whether or not you can do ANYTHING, is not...

    Shipping a Muzzleloader ???

Use the US Mail as it is less expensive. The only reqirement is the exterior of the box cannot say "firearm". I just received 2 BP revolvers by US Mail. One from a private individual and one from a gunshop. Legal in most areas of this great country except where local laws are more stringent...

Changes to ROA over the years.....?

The Son is no longer in charge. He stepped down(or was voted down and out) prior to the board of directors decision to discontinue ROA. Ruger is share holder driven public company just like GM, now.....Mike
