Just registered today. I'm in my early 50's, been reloading and casting since I was 14. I really like wildcats and oddball/unique stuff. Although I have a few, I'm not really into shotguns. Handguns and rifles are my thing, did my first "gunsmithing" at age 14, made a firing pin for a NR Davis...

Long range shooting formula, ballisitc coeficient etc

You really can't calculate a Ballistic Coefficient based on diameter, weight, and length alone. Bullet shape has much to do with it. One can calculate Sectional Density but this isn't as critical when shooting long range as BC is. For someone with "poor math skills" you undertaking a huge task!

CZ 550 American Safari .458 Win. Mag.

You can shoot .458 Win. Mag ammo in a .458 Lott. The cartridge headspaces on the belt and the .458 Lott is just a slightly elongated .458 Win. Mag. It's like shooting .38 specials in a .357 mag, only a lot more recoil :)

Forgot, also loaded for the .22 Jet.

    What's the most strange/uncommon caliber you've owned/fired?

wildcats My first wildcat was a 35 Whelen, before Remington legitimized it. I've had a 6mm/06. Currently have 6mm/284 and 8mm/06, but the oddest is one I developed myself, for a top eject M94 Winchester. It's based on 303 British brass, necked up to .416, and shortened to the same OAL as 30/30...

    .30-06 Milsurp not reloadable?

berdan primed? Yes, crimped primers can come out hard but your post suggests to me that you got a bunch of berdan primed cases. These can be good for making up "dummy rounds" or seating different bullets to your favorite over all length to save time in changing the adjustment of your dies but...

    3006 or 7mm

30/06 bolt gun I'd go with the 30/06 bolt gun. Effective on any North American game. Easier to find ammo in a better variety, easier to shoot (muzzle blast/recoil), cheaper and more components if reloading. If I could have only 1 rifle it would be a 30/06, glad I can have many more than one...
