I have no experience with this pistol, but since no one else has posted, I will say that I have always admired and wanted an Astra Constable. The A60 seems to be just a double stack variant. I like the .380 and am glad that you are happy with your gun.

When I carry a Makarov in .380, it's loaded with Buffalo Bore 95 grain JHPs loaded to the same velocity as my 9mm Makarov.

I have other guns, revolvers and autos, but my hands down favorite firearm is my EG Mak. I have a Bulgarian Makarov for cc and a practice Russian commercial in .380 and Bulgarian commercial in 9mm Mak that I reload for. Never had a malfunction with any of them.

It's the only powder I use for .30-06. There are a lot of great new powders out there, but that doesn't' make the old ones any less useful.

Both are excellent, but I prefer the slimmer Makarov. An interesting comparison would be the hi cap Mak and the Czech 82.

A jumping base pin may not be the norm, but I experienced it with my SBH, and not just from heavy loads. I bought the Belt Mtn base pin and it works.

Congratulations, beautiful gun! I shot mine just this morning. Tomorrow morning, I'll be shooting a Model 10. It's almost like a crutch firing the 14.

Maybe this is true, but I use them for all calibers I load and have had nothing but good results.

I have several .38 specials and enjoy shooting them. For what I do, blowing holes in paper targets and maybe an occasional can, I prefer the .38. The case is already long enough and, for me, the .357 is too long.

I've been loading .380 for a couple of yrs using Win 231/HP-38. No problems. My only concern is that top loads listed in the reloading manuals for 95 grain lead bullets seem pretty tame. I never try to hotrod any cartridges, but like to achieve factory-like velocities.

It's just a CZ that has been imported by CAI. Nobody copies the CZ 82/83 to my knowledge.
