Bad News for Deer Hunters: CWD in 2 Men

It’s been said multiple times in this thread and I just want to emphasize. YOU CAN NOT KILL PRIONS BY COOKING YOUR MEAT WELL DONE! The heat required to kill a prion is hot enough that your meat will be ashes before the prion is destroyed. A prion is a protein not a virus, fungus or bacteria.

I figured that maybe Flaw Ice was a thing not a mistake! I’d never heard that term before, I’m very familiar with most of the other ice you were talking about. Point hope was always a weather challenge!

Yeah I’m guessing auto correct turned floe into flaw but you never know with the locals up there they got lots of words for snow and ice. I’m familiar with ice floes. I flew off the polar ice for several years. The local language is very descriptive with ice and snow conditions. Chip...

Caribou, I thought when you initially wrote “flaw” ice that you meant thaw ice. What is flaw ice?

Incredible!! Thank you for sharing. The ingenuity and team work that goes into whale hunting with small boats is simply amazing.

    Realistic hunting challenge

When I got my first double rifle I read about double rifles, handling them, accurately shooting them, reloading on the move etc etc. I then took it out and made sure it was regulated for my load, and bought all the components I could find a 50 BMG reloading press and started shooting and...

    Realistic hunting challenge

I’ve been shooting various targets from water filled jugs to buckets filled with rocks to “North American target rocks” at various ranges from various field positions for decades. I do it in the wind, in the rain, in the snow and the heat wave. It teaches you what your limitations are and...

    9.3x62 vs .375 h&h

I’ve killed a lot of critters with a .375 H&H to include Cape buffalo and moose. In fact the buffalo in my avatar was killed with one well placed 300 Gr TSX through the top of the heart. The .375 H&H has been low drama, highly effective, incredibly versatile and extremely deadly. The rifle is a...

After re reading your post I’m not 100% sure I knew what my point was either. Seems we are in agreement. BTW What state are you in?

    Good Meat grinder?

Ditto, The Cabelas grinders are actually LEM’s that were rebranded for Cabelas. My 3/4HP makes short work of grinding. I knocked out 2 good sized cow elk in about an hour last season. I highly recommend a 3/4 HP LEM if you want to get serious about do it yourself processing. I’ve used hand...

Most inaccurate rifle I've shot in a long time, and it's a head-scratcher.

Agree with doing a full and complete copper de foul on your bore. I’m happy to hear your accuracy is headed in the right direction!

My money is on the loose base and ring screws.

Most inaccurate rifle I've shot in a long time, and it's a head-scratcher.

And just for reference that about 40,000 PSI over a max load. Well into frag grenade mode.
