    EWK Arms for Dan Wesson?

This may have put a dampener on his EWK production line. https://wtov9.com/news/local/man-pulls-out-high-powered-rifle-at-a-jefferson-county-youth-baseball-game https://www.athleticbusiness.com/operations/safety-security/article/15149961/angry-neighbor-brings-rifle-to-youth-baseball-game...

Question on which 1911 you'd suggest for women (wife's Bday present)

I just got my wife a Colt Gold Cup Trophy last month. She really likes 1911's because of the weight and the way it absorbs recoil. She shoots the crap out of it. I gotta find more ammo sales ! LOL. -Mike https://www.gunprodeals.com/products/1911-098289111210

Anyone Have and Love The S&W 659

For it's day it was a great semi auto choice. Strong as an ox and reliable. Kind of a rough double action trigger pull, because of the trigger return spring design and the channel it rode in, but that is fixable. I've had mine since I bought it new in '80 and put thousands of rounds down the...

    1911 Threaded Barrel

I generally run 230g ball ammo all the time. No feed or cycling issues with or without the can. -Mike

    1911 Threaded Barrel

If you end up with spent gases blowing back in your face consider a heavier weight recoil springs to slow the slide. On my suppressed 1911s I run a 22 or 24 lb Wolff recoil spring. The stock 45ACP 1911 recoil springs is about 16lbs . -Mike

1911 grip improvement ideas for the large mitted species.

Hogue offers some "Thick" grips that are about double the regular thickness. You might try those in their "Piranha" pattern. I have big paws and find them pretty comfortable on my 1911s. You might also look at installing an arched main spring housing vs. the standard flat housing. Smith and...

    CZ75 or 5906?

I'd go with the CZ in a heartbeat. Better trigger, better ergonomics, frame mounted safety being issues that jump out at me. Then if you throw in a CGW trigger kit into the CZ, you have a gun you can go compete with if you want to. My 5906 is relegated to truck gun duty now. Go to GunWatcher.com...

Unexpectedly Got a CZ P09, What Do You Think of Them?

The stock trigger kinda sucks, but you can fix that with the CGW trigger kit. It's a duty size pistol and not conducive to conceal carry if that's a concern for you. If given the choice between the P-09 and the SP-01 I would opt for the SP-01 in a heartbeat. I have my P-09 primarily as a...

To mod or not to mod - better shooter?

It will make your CZ's much more enjoyable to shoot, that's for sure. The CGW kits turn it into a different gun. The CZ triggers aren't horrible from the factory, but the CGW stuff puts 'em over the top. Custom tuning your handguns for your own taste is fun anyway. If you can afford it, I say do...

    FNX-45 Tactical Opinion

Do you have a suppressor or plan to get one ? Have an RMR or ever plan to use one ? Those are the FNX 45T's specialty. It's a great host and sweet shooting 45 if you just want to own one. But if you never plan on the suppressor or red dot sight, and don't want the hassle of finding a holster for...

Sig 1911 Super target .45 thoughts

They're great shooters. The Nil Griff grips are very comfortable with the 45 recoil. Is it a stainless model? Or the Nitron one ? There's about $100 difference between the two. $1100 isn't really a steal though. But you don't see a lot of 'em come up on the used market, so who knows. I've run...

    S&W's Lost Second Gen

The first semi auto I ever bought, long time ago ( 1980 ? ) .... still got it but it's my truck gun now. Took a bit of work to get the trigger right. But it's always a fun gun to shoot, and tough as nails. -Mike

    Freedom Munitions 9mm 147gr XTP - Disappointed

I had one of Freedom's 9mm cases blow in half (back half of case blew off...) last year, haven't bought any more since. Luckily no injuries. I'm sure it was a fluke but their's is the only ammo I've ever had do that so I elect to use other brands. YMMV. -Mike

    CZ 75 B trigger

You'll be very happy with the CGW trigger kits. I have them in all my CZs. Once you shoot a CZ with their kits installed it will spoil you for the stock triggers. -Mike
