My last range visit today for final sight in for deer season. I first shot 50 yards and 3 shots yielded me 2 touching and one half an inch away from the 2 touching shots. Feeling comfterble after that I went for the 100 yard and 3 shots were put within 2 inches I was very pleased with that.
heres my PC 460 10.5"
I dont know how to post pictures without having to use web page links and using the attatchment feature made it to what its posted as
wait nvm used the attatchment link for the picture link
yes they do perform best but I believe its because of a heavier bullet, and yes bullets do go old my uncle had 10 year old .308 rounds that wouldnt shoot the 1/2 gurantee groups at 100 like when he first baught them for his ar10 pantherarms. after my dad gave him some new federal gold he was...
I believe its rediculous to say heres a box of lead nothing special bullets for $50 or heres a box of somewhat special bullets for $60 how can hornady keep the price at $35 for good looking fast flying suppsily superior bullet and winchester has to charge $60 for mediocre looking stuff?
So what would be your advice? 50 yards was spot on one 1 1/2 inch hole in the bull 100 yards group diminished accuracy questioned
Hard to think its just us we been shooting big bore handguns for a while now i put 10 rounds of 50ae into a 3 inch group at 50 yards last year with a 6 inch barrel...
The 460 is a tough round to decide on my dad sends federal match sierra matchking .308 out his 15 inch encore pistol with bullets touching at 100 yards for a box of his amazing match grade bullets the same price gets me hornady 460 loads with the infamous non expanding bullet or explosivley...
Im not the best shooter but i do shoot great with handguns i have shot more big bore handguns in my life than rifles. Last year i was able to put 3 inch groups at 50 yards and 5 inc groups at 100 with my desert eagle in 50ae 6 inch barrel, seeing how my groups were such and my uncle with the...
I like the handloader has a deprimer and a priming tool in one kit i was going based off of new stuff yes i have saved all my shells i have 3 hornady boxes of them but buying new brass is a good idea to me incase some are cracked or bad. Im looking for the best hunting round most accurate thats...
If its just the shooter how is my uncle getting consistant fliers out of every 5 shot groups? Why am. Noticing cases trimmed inconsistantly?
My idea of a perfect load would be even trim all around the case rim and a evenly seated straight bullet
how long has it been since you last shot? I kind...
well how tricky can it be? My Ideal load is a hornady 240 grn xtp bullet loaded with 45 grns of hogdon h110 should push it to 2000 fps from load data that I found from someone online plus I think the hornady reloading book says 48 grains will push it to 2000 fps but it will be hot load max...
So even spending $357.40 on all new reloading stuff 100 bullets i reloaded would mean it paid $180 for all the equipment if $35 a box for cheapest box of 460 or it will have paid $300 of the equipment if $60 a box which i shoot now the real purpose is to defeat the cost of the $60 a box and also...
its just advertised velocities, Hornady has changed over the years the first 460 loads were the SST bullets now all are FTX the SST are plastic hard tips, FTX are the new lever evolution rubber type tips. Alot of people have noticed the hornadys do not expand or expand too quickly either...
I was quite amazed finaly able to shoot my new 460 xvr more today at the range. Well my uncle first shot his own 460 we both have the same 10.5" barrel 460, his 50 yard groups all created one big hole in the bull. Shooting factory hornady loads it was amazing to see all about 7? shot create...
ran some zep through my 22lr seems like both a good oil and solvent I sprayed some in the action and already gunk started loosening up it sure definatley got some gunk out of the barrel too Ill keep trying it lets see how good it is for firearms
another thing is unlike rem oil and gun solvents...
Our cast iron parts as soon as it gets washed through the parts washer within 5 mins it will rust 20 mins and we have a bad part, it rusts in the washer if the dryer time is set too long.
It leaves a thin oil layer i guess it loosens up grime too, we have shelved cast iron parts with dust so...
